Softronic flash on 997.1 C2

Just did it to my car. It went with no complications, process took about of 13 minutes for everything. I placed car on charger as recommended but I think they ask for it just in case if something will go wrong and process will take slower time than expected.

So, well, results are frankly a bit better than I expected. Nothing marginal happened, of course. Nothing 'jumps to redline' or so. Sport mode activated made car pleasantly more responsive in 3K-4.5K area. Seems to pull a bit better until 6K or so, then after 6.5K I feel it pulls a bit less than it was before.

As soon as I put 200 cell cats on I will take it to dyno to look it up on a graph. Would be funny if all what I feel are just purely psychological effects, but I doubt it. At least my butt dyno does. But so far I feel flash did exactly what I wanted - gave me more torque in street friendly range by expense of lowering power in highest RPM range. I guess it`s ok for me.

Interesting. Thanks for the report. Guess I'll just save enough for forced induction when the warranty runs out.

I just returned from 40 miles roundtrip, picked up my son from in-laws. So, on a highway car feels pretty different now, I like it a lot. It became very similar to C2S ones I tried before, dullness from throttle is gone completely in 3K-5K RPM range. It sprints now where it was jogging before, I can feel now how it presses my back into the seat. I am very pleased, it was totally worth it. First run on local road did not show that by much, really, as I could not feel it properly.

So I guess if one has base 997 without CS option - this flash is a must. Car feels much more reactive now. I still would not say if it got limitless power boost, not that much, but driving it became definitely more aggressive. I hate such verbal descriptions myself as it is quite difficult to put proper verbiage for it, will get new cats installed next week and will get in on a dyno - that should show right away what is different now and what is not.

You probably didnt lose any topend with the flash (if I read that right) its just the midrange is more pronounced that you dont fell the topend as much now...not as dramatic as it was when stock. Same thing will happen when you do the cats...midrange is going to be better.
