I was @ AWE yesterday, they have a serious setup over there! I'll definitely grab a set of their 200cll cats!

IMO, the X-51 headers has one advantage over all the other tuner's headers....it's price point. You get similar HP as other headers for 1/2 the price.

I agree, and they are OEM so no potential warranty issues. However, if you're going to change out the other components of the exhaust setup then I would consider sticking to the same manufacturer for everything.

The best combination in my opion, having tried a few, is the X51 headers ($600 or so) plus the AWE cats (keep mufflers stock). That did produce improved performance, gas mileage (more HP = less of it being used to move the car), better tone (deeper, burble on release of throttle), etc.

Ron to be honest...I didn't like the sound of the OEM mufflers with the X51 headers and AWE cats. I know you thought the AWEs were loud but I thought even with the AWE mufflers it wasn't aggressive enough for me. Now with the Borlas its a whole different ball game

I have the X51 headers, AWE 200cpi cats and Borla cans..if I was to do it all over again I would build my cat pipe custom and save a ton of money and use 100cpi metallic cats. IfI got a CEL due to the 100 cpi cats I would just run the 02 extensions. You can get the core 100cpi metallic cats for around $260 each.

Im all about saving benjamins when it comes to aftermarket mods.

Hey Dave, was it just that the sound of the OEM mufflers/X-51 headers/AWE cats combo wasn't loud enough for you, or was it the tone that you didn't like? I'm considering a setup like Ron CT's but I haven't heard the combo in the flesh.

A combo of both...sometimes an exhaust is loud but has terrible tone. The issue of the OEM mufflers was the tone was flat to me and not aggressive enough. I thought the AWE mufflers I had were just marginally more aggressive than the OEM mufflers. You can always try RonCTs combo and if you dont like it or feel you need that little more add the mufflers then.

Yeah, I guess that's my plan now. I love the OEM tone (could be a bit deeper though)-- just want more of it.

custom exhaust made by Lucas Fabrication

Header's + 3 lbs mufflers and thats it. Got EVOMS to tune out the check engine light and tune for new exhaust

But this is a race car exhaust.. louder than cup cars (even cup cars owners tell he that my car sounds better) I love it!
