Hi guys! new on this board, but a proud new owner of a white 997.2 C2S (getting delivered in 2wks)!

already looking to change the wheels... i ordered sport classic wheels in black, but for some reason not working for me...

so far options include: HRE P40 (matt black) & BBS LMs

thoughts? anyone with this combination so far? if so any pics?

also any suggestions on best place to buy?

thanks in advance and hope to be able to contribute tot his board soon!

Koby, I have a white 997.1 - new to me, but bought used. I swapped out the wheels for HRE 597R in 20" with Charcoal painted middles. The car sits a little high on them on standard suspension, but I think they look pretty good. Picture attached, albeit not a great one.

 

Places like Wheel Enhancement and Tire Rack have websites that show various after-market wheels mounted on Porsches. There are so many choices out there, it is hard to get what you want here. Just look at lots of cars and photos and decide what look you like. Give it a little time to be sure.

 

I would go with the HRE P40 in brushed. I had the BBS LM on my white 996C2. Good look!

 

MATTE BLACK WHEELS... I JUST PURCHASED A C2 CAB 997.2 MINE IS ALSO WHITE, I think matte black wheels will look best

HRE P43 in brushed as a first choice and textured black as a second choice. HRE P40's as well but I like the look of the P43 better on a narrow body and the P40's on the wide body.

Dan at Vivid Racing hooked me up with my P40's. Great to work with and had my wheels on in less than a week from placing my order.

 

HRE P40 are awesome! it was that or turbo rims when i choose it for my white 997.2. i took the turbo rims.

if not for money factor..woulda got p40 for sure

are you getting a wing on your car?
personally i feel the carreras 2 or 4 s does not look aggressive enough for blackrims unless it has a wing like gt3 or the turbo. .. just what i thought =P

i love white cars with black rims no doubt, just the carrera without wing looks too soft with the aggressive black wheels.

The best wheels for a 997.2S are the std Carrera S II wheels. Simple, elegant, easy to clean.

 

I have to say I still look back at the start of ZTADPOL and think that adias has a point:

But then looking down further during the build the P43s are also so nice. This white one has them too:

Both the P40 and P43 look stunning . I also like the brushed finish on the white car . It has this hand made texture that I prefer above all the rest . Plus it gives the car a clean look . If opting for an aerokit the competition series also would be my first pick (again brushed) .

I don't like black wheels . In my opinion it looks like the car has brake dust , makes a new car look used, and gives a german car this urban style commonly in some of the ghetto cruisers .Regardless of price I feel it looks flea market . I know many will disagree but my opinion is what it (and that is the title of the thread).

Worst of all .. I think black wheels will eventually phase out and those who are now 30 years old might have the next generation mocking them as "my dad's old man style black wheels ..so bling .. ha ha " just as many might mock the more traditional wheels .

LIG- did you paint your brakes Yellow or are they the ceramic brakes? ....

I love a brushed wheel It looks very clean specially on a white car, but white car with black wheels is GAME OVER, it just looks soo WOW... and when you do a Black wheel on a white car then you start doing everything black and white... white car dark tints, white car black exhaust tips, white car black emblems, white cab black top, white car black wheels, etc... thats just my opinion but on a white car, the whole black/white theme just looks so GOOD
