wsup guys, been reading a lot on the forum and keep coming across the word (CAI).... CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT THIS IS? I know it has to do with the intake thats about it

 

Cold air intake. It replaces your stock airbox with a tube and washable filter which draws in cooler air for your engine....cooler air = more power!!

 

Such an answer may presume that stock CAI is not a CAI. It is incorrect - it is CAI. CAI is a general term for any solution that directs outside cold air to air filter and prevents hot air in engine compartment to be sucked into engine. Stock system in any 911 is CAI by design.

Aftermarket CAI like EVO have different design, feature vortex style air intake and cone filter that on most cars results in air flow improvements, on 911 it is an open subject to what degree does it improve things. Perhaps it does.
rom my perception definite improvement would be to have directional air intakes in spoiler flowing incoming air into x51 style airbox dual air ducts, but it is too much hassle over system that works perfectly as it is.

Again, 997.2 as I understand has an improved design of stock airbox (at least from pictures I got a feeling that 997.2 airbox is different a bit from 997.1) so , it`s up to you.
