Bluetooth options for MY 2005

What are the bluetooth options available for a 2005 997? I believe Mobridge is the only one I've read on the forum.

Since my car doesn't have the telephone button that disqualifies it from Tooki and Dension.

Just wanted to check in if there were other options and also your opinions on said options/pricing.

I also do want iPod functionality but that could be a separate module.

TIA!

I believe Mobridge requires PCM to have all phone buttons and numpad for phone to work. Post a picture of how your PCM looks like. I never saw PCM without phone buttons.

Perhaps I was mistaken then? I could have swore I had read other 2005s out there that did get Bluetooth working?

I'll take a pic later, but it doesn't have the phone buttons, SIM chip slot or SOS button above the cd slot.

you can try to contact manufacturers directly but I believe all solutions I investigated while looking to get it done for my car required presence of those phone buttons in order for bluetooth phone to operate and it is logical as I can dial numbers and accept calls using them, if they would not be there - naturally it would not work.

But may be there are some other workarounds, who knows.

Hey Bud!
Buy one of those things that goes in your ear - they even have voice activated dialing these days - or get one of those Motorola car units. Save yourself the big bucks and headaches!
I'm saving for one of the Densions for the iPod hookup, can't live too long without that though!

Hey Rye, I'm with you on getting a Dension for the iPod. The soundtrack mainly right now is the engine . I've found myself actually turning the radio volume down when I'm driving it.

I can just use the wireless headset if needed, but would be nice to have it integrated. I'm use to having that in the ZHP, but then again I don't have the buttons on the steering wheel either....

non-sense. when you drive with lowered windows and rolling stones at 3/4 max volume in speakers you simply do not hear phone ringing at all.
having headset in your ear all the time hurts and is extremely annoying.

I have an '05 S and it has the phone buttons and SIM slot. I checked with MoBridge and they did say that was required to be compatible with their system. I had it installed and it's pretty nice. OTOH, talking on the phone, with the top down, with the mike at the top of the windshield, is a no op.
If I had to do it all over again, since I don't listen to music very much and principally bought it for the BT, I wouldn't.

Hey Verde, I think I actually based my opinion that 2005 could have bluetooth based on your old posts when I first looked into it months back. I'm guessing they upgraded the PCM to the version with telephone buttons midway through 2005 model years.

Bummer. Attached is a pic of the PCM in my car.

I have suggested this before, but I am still pleased using a Garmin Nüvi/Bluetooth in my 2007. It pairs easily and reliably with my iPhone. No rewiring necessary. It's especially useful if you do not have a Nav already built into your car.

You can put it where you like. It will attach to the windshield with its suction cup; or to the top of the dashboard.
