It is red . PCCB's are expensive (8500) . Sport bucket seats are expentive too.

Those two options eat up nearly 10K .

Don't. Forums are for giving opinions and discussions. That's all.

I'm active in several PCA regions and have gotten to know several dealers. Once in a while we discuss the internet and forums.

The consensus to me is that some know what the general tone is on some forums but its not going to change how they do business. Several have laughed when I discuss the pricing opinions of this board. I don't tke it personal I just moved on.

As for this thread four points stick out to me:

1) I would not consider a gt3 if i'm not going to track it. No way IMO is it the best choice for a DD.

2) I don't understand how someone could expect large discounts on a new model GT3 so soon.

3) And I don't get how one expects to get value for mods. This goes against most past performance.

4) You usually lose quite a bit for buyers remorse (or any reason) if you trade a car back in soon after purchase.

Sorry...but I think dealers are pretty aware of 3 and 4 already. I didn't let them in on any buyers secrets.

He feels badly that he shared the price information that I told him privately . He had thought I made it public but had not. I told him it does not matter . They did read his posts . I still say that it does not matter .
I still respect him and the dealership and value the friendships and business relationships developed over time with both.
I like Sin911.
I also like the guys at both dealerships.

That said .
I'll address your points but first I have questions . Why does it bother you so much that i want this car ? Enough to dimiish the value of my car beyond what the dealership would offer ? Enough to judge the how and when I plan to drive it ? What difference would it make to you if I bought the car just because I want to ? Or because I can ? Would it matter to you if I got the car at a price I was happy with ? If I got more for my car and paid less for the new one than you imagine why woild you care ? Why is it so hard to simply wish me well ?

BTW -- I don't feel like any less of a person because you share a different viewpoint . I don't feel that because i feel I am right that you are therefore wrong . In short my self worth is not based on the opinion and judgement of others .

as it turns out .. another day passed and I don't have a Gt3 .
As of today I don't plan on having one but if somehow I end up with one it will be at a price and with acar that I feel happy with .

Regardless of
1) tracking it
2) discounts
3) mods and value
4)your concept of buyers remorse

It does not bother me at all. You are asking every day for opinions on seats and shocks and driving it as a DD and when I give opinions you think I'm bothered that your buying it because you don't agree with my answers. How do you come to that conclusion?

You are a noted self expert on porsche pricing. But we can't disagree with you?

For months your posts have been lowering the values of every owner's car here. You talk about dealers reading the forums and you don't think about what your posts about falling prices have done over the months when you try to trade something in.

But when its time for your trade its different. You expect top dollar because now CPO prices have sky-rocketed; to use your words. Its laughable. You decided to change the scenerio and when I brought up lower values (that you have been professing for months) its because I don't want you to have the car.

I know I'm a new guy and your the expert and I'll make allot of enemies. But I always believe you should post what you think. I'm not big into lip service.

Anyway..

I hope you get the car you want and am happy with it. And I hope you get a great deal.

you both are taking this discussion into some odd place where it did not have to be and making it worse.

disregarding of any assumptions CPO prices did get up and it is quite obvious even for me by doing simple search on cars.com. I would not say it raised way up high but on 06-07 cars it looks like we have $10K gain in average.

Larry, I think that waiting is the best thing to do, you might as well enjoy the 997.2C2S for a while and then trade it in when the GT3 prices come down after the initial rush to get one.

If you track a lot, then say by to the C2S, but otherwise it isn't worth it IMO.

Thank you for stating this. Nothing personal as I do feel all the members of this board make every visit an enjoyable one.

I echo your points here. But again, not personalizing anything here, the discussions about resale, purchase, and (especially) DME computer read outs really put me off as a Porsche owner. We basically devalued our own cars and made buying and selling our cars more painful.
