Decision made --drumroll please
First I would like to thank the many forum members who added insight.
I have decided to wait , keep my 997S , and when I am ready spec a Gt3 to my exact taste ..( pending an acceptable price ) .
Both cars I am looking at do NOT have the PADM (Porsche Active Drivetrain Mount) and I feel it is as important to have this. Not having it would effect drive and resale .So that's a dealbreaker right there .
I also refuse to pay MSRP and want top dollar on my car . I want the Gt3 to be exactly the way I want it . I don't know if I would get ceramics . I kinda like my Brembo more . I would opt for full leather might opt for sport seats rather than sport bucket . I would want the noselift .
My car speced the way I want it woild hit my price target and if I sold my car myself I would exceed it . So I'll just keep my PDK car for now. I refuse to take a big loss on that car and pay more than what I think the Gt3 is worth .. given that I already have two Porsches .
I did say --
--someone else could buy the car at MSRP and that's what most dealerships hope for .
I also did say -
-I could change my mind and stick to my price target and on both of these I have .
So I wait.

Nice. I think you're making a good call. The nose lift I thought was standard on the 2010s but it doesn't sound like it.
PADM also sounds like it will help w/ ride quality, and since it would be your DD that should definitely be an option you get.
Most importantly, you should still go drive one first and see if it really makes you want it that badly.

Agree . The options have to be the way I want them and the price has to be right .
Sounds good Larry, I would want the PADM as well. You should get what you want when you want it, no compromises at this price level. Now get out and enjoy your new paddles - can't wait to hear about them!
I want to thank you for raising my awareness on the option . It led me to read up on it . I really appreciate it.

Larry, I am so happy you have made this decision
I always wanted you to keep the car a little longer to enjoy it and change it after a few months if necessary...
Again I apologise if you have taken any of comments the wrong way, I just wanted to help...
You should have the exact car that you want with the right options if it is going to cost $140k

In short ... because that car lacks the options I want , and I had four days to think it over , and I have not been offered a great price --
I saved the money and will still get the car . But it has to be the right car.

Not that it matters because I have said the same thing to you as well as any dealership . I don't expect to get a gt3 for free but whatever price it closes at both the seller and buyer have to feel like it was a win/win .
But ultimately .. it's the buyer who lives with the options on the car . It's also the buyer who writes the check . Thus .. the buyer does have the final say .
Of course the perfectly speced GT3 might be the next one on the boat
.
Never heard about PADM. I'll need to read the review of the GT3 in my German magazine. My earlier reference about the 2010 TT and the 0-100 kph time of 3.1 sec. was a new record for a street car. Fastest they've ever tested. PDK, of course. By comparison, I think the 2010 GT3 is 3.7 sec.
You have time to wait for the GT3. They just got here and the dealers may need to deal with actually selling them. Right now, you've got to imagine they are not really motivated to move them. Beginning of the model year and the benefits of recent incentives to improve last month's sales. Now is not really the time to buy. OF COURSE they want to do a deal, but they are still probably a bit hesitant not to make some real margin on this brand new model.
Besides, what we all want to see is the newly outfitted PDK. AND you need to get it and drive the CRAP out of it! We've gotta hear a sound clip of the exhaust, etc.! Heck, the PDK is going to be a fun car. I think you would really miss out on a good experience by jumping from it so soon. Pick the dead of winter for the GT3 negotiation and get one from a dealer up here. In February the guys here will be dying to make a deal!
