Booster seats in 997 Cabriolet - follow up.

Hi. I am about to take delivery of my 997 Cabriolet and will need to fit two 3 year olds in the back. Hoping to see what the current best thinking is. I saw the pictures of the Recaro Vivo in this thread and I so far that seems to be the best alternative. (They have a black and beige model that I think wouild look nice in my sand beige interior (Porshce Racing Green, btw)). Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just FYI. You can probably go to your dealer's website and get a 20% off coupon for Techequipment and it will bring the Porsche Junior Plus to a less painful $220.

One more question, the Porsche Junior Plus is stated for 30-100lb but the Britax Parkway is 40-100. What gives?? My daughter is right at 29.8lb and I am still contemplating which seat to get. (Porsche Junior vs Junior Plus or Racaro Vivo) But my car is scheduled for April delivery so I still have time to "stuff" her but from 29.8 to 40 seems to be a lot of food in 2 months.

Let's hope the Recaro Vivo I ordered works!

I ordered the Recaro Vivo last night from Amazon. In addition to being much less expensive, I think the colors will look better than the Porsche booster. Based on mshaneler's pictures, it looks like it should fit well. I will post pictures once I get it installed.

Please let me know how does the Racaro work out. I know it works in a C2S but not sure if it works in a TT due to the extra hump in the middle.

Thumbs up Harmony Literider (Juvenile) Fits a 997 Cab Rear Seat

Thought i share this with the forum. I bought two Harmony Literider child booster seats for $14.00 each! ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Harmony-Ju...-Pink/10992661 )

They fit very we'll in the rear seats of my 2007 997 C4S cab. The one downside I found were challenges with the spacing between the armrests and buckle. After reading a post on the Rennlist on a simple mod to resolve this. I went out to the garage and used my heat gun to perform the same mod. It worked out perfectly and now there is plenty of room for my girls to fasten the buckle themselves!

I used a bungee to pull the arm rests in while I used the heat gun to soften the plastic. Here are some pics.

BTW, Harmony Literider dimensions are 17"L x 16"W

Sorry for the delay; just saw this. The Recaro seems to fit pretty well, although I'd prefer it to be a more precise fit. I am able to buckle her in fairly easily and she seems to be secure. I still need to take pictures and post them. I'll try to do that this weekend.

Thanks, did the identical same thing, skipped the heat gun and bungee cord, just using a simple hairdryer.

Is all you needed to do is warm up the armrests and pull them in? Did the back, base fit fine or did you need to push down pretty hard to get the booster to fit into the bucket seat? I think i may have found the holy grail solution to my problem if this works!!!!!

Ned-,

Correct, as I mentioned in my write up, just warm the lower areas of the arm rest so the plastic is flexable. Once the plastic is soft, move and hold (hold long enough for plastic to cool and "set" in new position") arm rests inward. You are done!

The base and everthing fits perfect and no muscling required. Simply drop in, load the kiddos and enjoy!

Issues

Well I tried this mod and it didn't work for me.

I tried it with the roundabout and my issue was back clearance and the firewall. I do have the bose system so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I took out all my seats and I couldn't get the back to sit flush with firewall. It rested on the fabric covering (not sure what this is called)

I have attached pictures so you can understand what's going on.

Does anyone with a cabriolet have any suggestions? My kids are 3 & 4.

Thanks!!

I have a cab and use those (Harmony or very close to). i did the mod and my girl can do the seatbelt by herself.
But honestly I wouldn't use these seats for a 3 year old. My girl is 7 1/2 already so I feel more comfortable with a booster.
