Smile 10 more days until I see my car

I would like to introduce myself and thank the board members for their contributions. This is a great place to get educated on a car which will be new to me.

It is an 09 C2S, black/black, 6MT, limited slip diffy, UIA, Bluetooth, XM, dynamic cornering lights, self dimming mirrors, pwr seats w/driver mem, heated front seats, 19" Carrera Sport wheels.

I got 20% off of msrp; the car is at the PNW, I live in Los Angeles, and I am currently in NY on business. All done via e-mail/phone. I would like to thank trader220 in particular who helped greatly in educating me about these cars and actually finding me some to choose from.

I will get pictures up as soon as I see the car in person.

Meanwhile, I downloaded the manual and have been reading it.

The only part I may have to change is the Carrera Sport wheels. Maybe they will grow on me.

Sorry for the lack of pictures but I promise in about two weeks they will be up.

Best regards,

Selo

Congrats sweet car at an even sweeter price. Wish I had gotten that type of deal on mine. Timing is everything, those who waited it out really did great.

It will be interesting to see how these discounts affect 09 cars in the used market. Hopefully once 09's are gone and if Porsche truly does cut 2010 production the 09's will come back a little.

I hope so to for the resale value.

I will be coming from an 05 E46 M3 ZCP that I love, which I will have to sell to clear space. My test drive of a C2 was a completely different experience.

Congrats and welcome to the club. You got LSD, great!

Where does one find a complete list of cars available other than the usual sources: Auto Trader, Cars.com, etc...?

Trader220 may chime in; send him a message. He gave me a lead to an Atlas Grey in NorCal which was gone by the time I made contact with the dealer.

In addition, I went to the Porsche USA site, and literally searched new 09 inventries dealer by dealer, in at least 20 states. There are still some but the inventory is declining fast, with the left overs possibly not close to your preferences. I wanted black, 6MT, and LSD, and found one that had a few other options I could live with.

Good luck with your search.

I suspect we are not alone here! I'd bet I spent 10 hours searching as you did. My guess is there are quite a few that did the same thing with the incentives so enticing. I did get some options I would not have ordered but when I did the math, taking all the angles I could imagine, those options were not very expensive. I think it was a good time to buy, but only time will tell. Good luck with the new delivery?
Now, what is wrong with the Carrera Sports?

Seems like the best deals are now - cars that had more/better options and were too pricey, now are just right and moving. Good things come to those who wait.

Congrats. Sounds a very nice car.

No doubt, I have always considered myself a shrewd negotiator and I thought I was with my 997 up until a couple weeks after my deal. Having to contend with a trade did make it harder for me though. I love my C2S, but if I had only known the direction the market was going in I would have a C4S PDK in my garage right now.

Nothing really and I have not seen them in person. I like the new Carrera S II wheels; very simple and modern design to my eyes.

I had no choice here as the dealer did not have another C2S that she could have swapped the wheels.

Sometimes the best part of acquiring a new "something" is the wait. Enjoy it when it comes.

Congrats on the new ride, I am sure that you will enjoy it. Do you plan to take it to the track? The LSD is a lot of fun there.
