So I have my factory wheels (19" Lobster Forks) from my NB 997 and they have PS2 tires all around in pretty good condition.

So my three questions for those of you with after market wheels:

What did you do with your factory wheels?
What would you do if you had these extras? Sell, keep, etc?
What is a fair price to ask with the tires?

I know people like JoeShark sold his wheels to vivid when he bought his HRE? Do you think it would be better to hold onto them. They are in perfect condition.

I updated to set of OEM Carrera Sport wheels with TPMS and Michelin PS2s.

Sold my lobsters with TPMS and Pirellis to another rennlist member who needed a set of track wheels. (Also helped defray the cost of new wheels/tires). This was a couple of years ago. Sold my lobster set complete for $1600 plus shipping.

I painted mine matte black.. The wheels look good, but I think they would look better on a red, white, or silver car. I'll probably look to sell once I get new wheels.

Hey skizot,

As you mentioned, I traded mine in to Vivid Racing as a credit on the purchase of my HRE's. I did this only because they gave me a great, great credit and that helped soften the blow a little on spending $5K on the new wheels (helped me convince the wife that I "really" needed new wheels even though the lobsters were perfectly fine).

If you can't get a decent price on your wheels/tires (and hopefully find somebody local or factor in the shipping because to ship four wheels/tires across country could be very expensive), I'd keep your OEM's. I only say this because if/when the time comes to sell your car, you'll never get anywhere close to what you paid for your new wheels upon selling your car. You can either put the OEM's back on and sell your new wheels seperately or perhaps the wheels might fit your next ride (GT3?). Just my opinion.
