a sad ROTtec Carbon experience

First, I must say Raymond at ROTtec Canada, is an absolute gentleman throughout our communication for over a month now, but I think the place where they have the carbon fiber products manufactured gone a little off their chart on my orders.

I've attached the CF front lip photos, and there's been rain and thunder for the last 3 days (Sorry for the bad quality photos and the dirt).

Please observe them carefully, clearly there are huge gaps with the fitting of the front lip.

I have taken the item to 3 different places for the installation but there is absolutely something wrong with the production of the lip.

It is usually acceptable to a certain level of error to the fitting, but as you can see, the gaps are huge. And my driver and I, made sure there was no damage to the shipped product, we went and picked it ourselves from the UPS storage.

On this thread and sample photos of cars used on ROTtec's website, they don't seem to have any problems with the fittings etc.

The CF spoiler over the rear window was also manufactured very badly, there are huge bumps all over it, when you move your hand over it, it feels like a rollercoaster ride. Sorry I didn't take photos, but I can if needed.

The cost of the items were around $800, however I have paid another $450 for shipment and another $450 for the customs in Istanbul / TR (Relocated Job Oppt.) And when I finally got them, they are all manufactured badly, didnt fit etc and I don't drive my car now, because there are holes on my bumper so I don't want to take CF lip out.

I've been talking with Ray for over a month now for a solution. I hope he can find a solution whether to send me a new set of orders or I'm open for suggestions, what do you guys reckon ?

Due to the costly oversea shipping and import duties (Turkey). We're try to find the solutions for fix the lip on Cem's car. If he is located within North America, I will send him a new one right away. We will find the solution to fix this defected unit or new replacement will be send.

I Raymond,

what about mine ? It's not fixed yet on the car.
Is the lip same production with same defaults ? I'am afraid to install it.

Seem like Cem's lip was defected from manufacture. We have sold 15pc. of it and this is the first report of fitment issue. Let me know if you have any question with install.

Ray and I went through every single detail and sorted everything out. He is a total gentleman to deal with, and I received my 2nd order from him. I think I have all the carbon parts and couldnt be happier, a little pricey because of shipping and customs.

I've sent him the photos of my car after completion, I'm sure he will put it up on his website and share with you. Definitely will buy from him again.

Cheers!

+1, I know Ray through our local PCA, and he is a great guy. It doesn't surprise me that he made sure that you were happy.

off all the mods that one was most mysterious to me. I could see partially why it could help something on a cup car that sits practically inches from a pavement, but what good is it going to do on a street car? IMHO - next to nothing.

But I am not after any exterior gizmos anyway, just do not care about em. I just do not think anybody out there will even notice that CF thing under your car, that`s all.

I agree about the performance on the street and how little it would help BUT some people do not want to drive what everyone else does, which is why they do subtle changes to their car's exterior!
IMO these cars need those subtle changes to enhance the look, kinda boring without it!
Sometimes it is NOT about performance!

Your front lip already add the extra brackets behind, it shouldn't be a any problem with install. If you come up with problem, let me know!

We have no fitment with 997 diffuser, is a simple install and they fit perfectly! We have both glossy and dry CF finish available in stock. PM me or email to info@rotteccarbon.com to place your order!

Talk about body style, no better people than Stacy here! Totally agree with you. Most of us add body kits, aero parts and bigger wheels are not intend to add more down force or get more grip. We can't tell the different on the street. It kind of personalize our own car to improve the look which keep us more interest with our toys!
