Color combo question

Given the substantial discounts on the remaining '09's, I've been looking around. My first thought was Midnight Blue or Meteor with natural brown. Then, and I saw a Basalt Black with Black/Terracotta. I like the look of black but not the maintenance. Will Basalt eliminate the hassle of keeping up the exterior? I've always liked terracotta. Has anyone ever seen this combination or have a picture of it? I like the idea of the extra power of the '09S, but I sure wish it had the sport exhaust like my '07.

As an unrelated question, are the '09 TT's being discounted in the 20% range?

My 997 is Basalt and so far I can't say it is any easier to maintain than Black. However it does look great for the 6 hours after you wash it before it gets dirty again. I think it is a great color for these cars, good luck.

I really like the natural brown interior, I think Meteor Gray w/ Natural Brown would be a great combo!

I think any dark color is harder to maintain. i have atlas grey and I love it. sometimes it's black, sometimes it's dark blue and sometimes charcoal depending on the light. I wash my car at least every 2 weeks. i am up for another full detail with swissvax soon and maybe something new! Once cleaned and waxed, those dark colors are gorgeous!!! just don't drive it...just kidding! I think every color has its' own wash/wax/dirt demons! Just get what you want and enjoy washing it!

We have had black, white, and now meteor gray.

Without a doubt Meteor is best of both worlds.
it never really looks dirty, until you are about 1 foot away.

Everyone who sees it loves it.

Just a great color.

Black is awesome. When it's clean. But, as the member above said 6 hours later, it's dirty. Never fails.

Go with Meteor. You won't regret it..

I'd pick depending if my car was going to be a daily driver or a weekend fun car. As a daily driver, black is just to hard to keep clean. I would have gone for one of the gray's (seal being my all time favorite) or white. However, as my car is mostly for weekends and such, I went with black. Nothing better than a clean (and even mostly clean) black 997.

What really bothered me about my last black car were the swirls in the paint which appeared virtually after the first washing. The necessity of buffing the car regularly to eliminate this problem is a major labor commitment. That's why I was hoping Midnight or Meteor would work -- almost as beautiful, much less grief. (I think I might have used the same theory in my marriage decision many moons ago, and we've been married a long time.) White or cream would no doubt work as well.

Midnight Blue (but I am biased) Seriously though, all dark colors show finger prints, scratches, etc. Mine is a weekend toy, but I seem to spend as much time cleaning it as I do driving it...

I have the Midnight Blue and love it, but after it's cleaned it looks great until the first time you touch it.
