Can anyone review Softronic in a 997.1 Tiptronic C2S?

I have read a lot of posts about Softronic on non-S Carrera and on manual transmission cars. Can anyone with a 997.1 Carrera S without Sport Chrono Package let me know how regular driving has improved with Softronic?

Better yet, has anyone compare Softronic in a Tiptronic C2S with the sport mode from the Sport Chrono package in another Tiptronic C2S?

bump... anyone? I am most interested in your opinion on how Softronic affects low rev (below 3500 RPM) driving. Can you actually feel any difference?

The main purpose of Softronic reflash is improving the OVERALL performance especially the low end "normal driving" rpm's. The ecu flash will change your fuel and timing parameters giving you quicker throttle response (not from sport chrono), improved lowend torque, and gain through the midrange. The difference is felt on how the car pics up quicker instead of bogging from the factory torque limiter which Softronic removes.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, I am still a bit uncertain... If Softronic does not re-map the shift pattern on a Tip S transmission (like the Sport Mode does for those who have SC), then when the Tip S is in D mode (as opposed to manual M mode), it will still shift up at under 3500 RPM in most circumstances, if not earlier. Does that mean that I won't feel the benefits of the Softronic flash? Clearly, the higher redline will not be useful and the smoother upper end will also not be felt. Am I correct?

TCU is completely seperate from ECU. So if you want your tiptronic shifting to improve, you have to get a TCU flash. Only EVO has one. We sell it, $1000.

Had Softronic in a 07 CarreraS with Tip and Softronic does nothing for the shift points or how fast/slow a Tip shifts

if I understand properly ECU got nothing for tiptronic - it has its own TCU.

I don't have a tip but i do have SC & Softronic and did notice a difference across the band. Not massive, but enough to be satisfied with my purchase and enough to notice it's gone when i flash the original back before taking it in for maintenance at the dealer

i don't think the SC made my Softronic ECU any better or worse. My friend has the Softronic with no SC and i really can't tell the difference between his car and mine.

Bought mine from Vivid Racing, and they were really helpful.

on a side note i didn't know SC remapped the tip shift pattern....learn something new every day

I am exactly in the same boat - don't really feel that my C2S is underpowered (though more would always be good), but the Tiptronic sucks if it happily shifts into 5th gear in the city (while I would much rather be in three).

Vivid - any chance to elaborate on the meaning of TCU flash, I am not technical enough to know that this actually means.
Do I understand this right that I can buy both the Softtronic and the TCU thing from you for about $1000 a piece (i.e. they do different things) and that the TCU basically does the function of the Sport Chrono?
Congrats by the way for having nothing but positive reviews and comments here

Vivid - I just went through the very helpful notes - some of your customers are saying that you can configure the softronic that the Sport Mode is always on - does that work even without SportChrono on the Tiptronic?
Tks

Yes I had Sport Chrono. The car was a 2007 Carrera S Tiptronic that I used extensively at the track. On the street I could not noticed too much. At the track I felt slightly more power around 4000 rpm especially coming out of the slower corners. My car was stock except for Fabspeed mufflers.

I also tried out the Revo upgrade in the 06 Carrera S I had and did not notice much except the throttle seems more sensitive. I felt the Softronic was possibly a better deal.

My belief is that ECU tuning really works best when you do a lot of mods with the intake and exhaust in order to tune the fuel/air ratio and ignition timing. With a Turbo you will notice a more obvious difference with a ECU re-map over a naturally asperated engine.

Hope this helps!
