We need to get together and have a little friendly drag race and some roll on's in 4th gear to compare your GIAC flashed car and my stock ECU car. We both have Tubi so this could be a great learning experiance.

I will be at a few track events and I did something like this with another 2009 at Sebring. I will be at Daytona this comming weekend and Sebring for the PCS Suncoast event.

And the majority of our gains with our 997.1 system are by use of much higher flowing cats, given that we don't have to hit the same emissions targets as the OEM's. We have the same opportunity on the 997.2 once the software obstacle is removed. Comparing cat gains to midmuffler replacement gains or any hardware-only massive gains on the 997.2 is what is controversial.
I'm fully aware of the differences since we were there having owner the 2009 997S at the start of the release of the car last September and having done the software tuning for the Seimens DFI unit then. But this is GIAC's thread so I'll step out. I was just saying that we didn't see "massive" gains from our stand point (unless you call 8hp massive).

And I don't see where my "massive" comments were directed at Sharkwerks in particular. You're not the only company selling center muffler replacement parts.

This would be absolutely great to see ,it´s the only way to check it there are any real world gains.

GIAC performance software is now available for Porsche 997.2 applications. This programming offers significant improvements over the standard factory programming:

* Improved crank horsepower and torque gains of 11-14 hp/13-15 ft lbs of torque.

* Improved drivability, with power and torque gains across the entire rev range.

* Improved throttle response for a drive-by-cable system feel.

* Increased torque limits to accommodate additional hardware modifications.

* Stock mode and a handheld switcher are included with purchase. Additional switching modes (Anti-theft, Valet) may be available for purchase in the coming months.

Dynamometer test results measured at the wheels are included here. The graph plots three runs for a 2010 Porsche 997.2 PDK with a pre-installed X-pipe on 91-octane fuel. The first and second runs are performance runs with GIAC programming included to demonstrate the consistency of the software power curve. The third run is the baseline run with stock ECU programming.

For more information, please contact your local GIAC dealer: http://www.giacusa.com/dealermap/
can you drop me a pm , i want to buy this software. thanks

We were very clear about this on the plots but I should reiterate. Our test car was equipped with an x-pipe upgrade and we did not baseline this car with a 100% factory system.

You can find a demonstration video here: http://www.youtube.com/user/GIACVids#p/u/3/kzeREWzbEdI

Your car would be in pump performance mode by default.

Hello

Do you also flash the unit via OBD?

Thanks

My dealer sells and installs GIAC software. I asked them if it voids the warranty and they said no. Not sure what to believe.

Well the question to ask here is will the flash show after you turn it back to stock and take the car to the dealer for warranty work?
