Funny little story!
I had a funny thing happen today that I thought I would share with all of you regarding the dreaded "Rattles".
Yesterday, my car developed the worst rattle I had ever heard in my life! It sounded like there was a large marble that would roll from side to side in the car's roof whenever I turned left and right. It sounded like a bowling ball rolling across a hardwood floor! So naturally, I was like , "this darn Stinkin' car!" (My actual words were not suitable to post
)
Well, I spent 3 hours today driving left and right and left and right.
So, it turned out to be a small acorn that was in the slot where the rear window comes down into the rear spoiler. The acorn fits in there perfectly and rolls across the glass! Then when you park, it rolls into the little "coves" on either side of the slot and hides. LOL! You know how hard it was to find that little acorn??!?!!?
Now at least we know how to fix this sort of rattle!

Funny.
Something similar happened with my ML63 about a month ago.
There is a large walnut tree and squirrels from all around the neighborhood gather and harvest nuts each season. It's amusing, especially knowing that they cannot digest fresh wallnuts and have horrible diarrhea. Looks amazing on white fence. There is also a lot of fighting, screaming and nuts falling from the sky. They are quite industrious and hide them all over the place as fast as they can.
So, one morning I get out and start the car and the darn thing would choke, sputter and stall in seconds. I tried again with no luck and then called the "SOS" line, so they dispatch a rescue tow truck.
While I am waiting, I am looking around the car and there are wallnut peels and shells all over the place. I look at the exhaust and 3 out of 4 pipes had large unpeeled wallnuts inside. They fit quite snugly in there.
Little f****ers thought it was a safe and warm long-term storage for winter. hehe

Quite funny actually in my cayenne I have a similiar problem. Except when I accelerate or come to a stop, there is this penny or a quarter or something and it's as if it is on a track standing verticly. Every bloody time I accelerator or stop I hear this penny rolling on this metal track somewhere under my seat and boy is this ever annoying luckily it only happens during heavy accel or decel. But does anyone know where it could be stuck I asked the dealer he has no idea. Thanks

I'm glad you found the acorn before you took it in to the dealer. Last weekend I parked and this cat came out and nestled under the car when I was walking away. I pictured the cat getting in by the engine, me starting it up later...and...fried pussycat. Luckily it didn't happen.
I know what you mean, my neighborhood cat (Marley) is minus a tail because of a little nap he took in a SUVs engine compartment! The 911 is kinda tight in the engine bay, so we are in luck there. I was also glad that the dealer didn't go looking for it at $100/hr! Ouch!
