Mileage on Aftermarket Springs

Just curious to see what the impressions of aftermarket springs are after 10k-20k miles are.

Go with the Eibach..they lower the car less than an inch for the "S" therefore minimizing any degradation that lowering the car might cause the OEM PASM. When you lower the car more than an inch with the OEM PASM you are putting the struts out of the valving range. With the Eibach they lower the PASM cars just 15mm (just a tad over a half inch) and you should be fine.

Lowered my car with TechArt springs a few months back and only have about 1,000 miles on them so can't comment yet. I went with TechArt as I was looking for just a slight drop (with my GT3 front bumper, I really couldn't go for a big drop) and they are perfect with the 15mm drop and PASM and everything else working perfectly.

thanks, rep point added... appreciate that.... whats your thoughts about techart ?... they are a little more expensive, but worth it, if it doesn't mess up the ride....

I have had the Eibach springs for 6000 miles and love them. i felt the OEM srings gave a stiffer ride then the Eibachs. dropped the car about 3/4 of inch.

Dave,

Thanks for the heads up. That's what I thought but the only concern I had was that the Eibach website showed the drop to be either 0.8 in. (which is just over 20mm) or 1.0 in. (which is just over 25mm). Wasn't sure if this is on cars with or without PASM. The TechArt website made it pretty clear that the springs on my car with PASM would only drop my car an addtional 15mm and that's why I went with them. I'm sure 5 or 10mm wouldn't be the end of the world but I really wanted to keep my drop to a minimum. Oh well, I probably spent more than I should on the TechArt springs but than again, I've probably overspent on a few other things on my car

I can't remember (and I'm out of town right now or I'd go look up my receipt). I remember I paid pretty much whatever the cost of the TechArt springs are (retail) as I looked around and really didn't seem anybody discounting them. I'm going to take a guess but I think I paid around $600-$700 for the springs (which is way more than the Eibach's). If you want an exact price, I can look when I get back into town later this week.

Went with Eibach springs. Lowered my base 997 one inch. Very happy that I do not notice any change in the ride quality. You do have to be careful about scrapping the underside in the front when going up or down driveways--unless you are real careful and go slowly. Car looks just terrific lowered!!! Cost $353 out the door. But took a good 4 hours to DIY install.

The Eibach site shows the kit for both PASM and non PASM, with the non PASM cars being dropped 25mm and PASM cars being dropped 15mm as PASM cars are lower than base cars without PASM by 10mm.
