I just did it and it works great! It couldn't be easier!

I have an iPhone 4 and the padded case holds the phone nicely - neither loose nor snug.

Brilliant, simple DIY. Does the job perfectly. Who knows, I may upgrade to a Dice cradle or Proclip, but for now my iPhone is safe and accessible.
