These are avalible now...check the Pirelli website but they do NOT come in the proper 18" sizes. They do have stock 19" sizes but I'd like to go a little wider up front that stock 19" size. Plus most of us track guys use 18" 245-40-18 front 305-35-18 and they do not come in these sizes.

I know all the race cars use 18" but the rules also dictate that 18" must be used. I know a lot of guys that DE 997S and GT3's use 18" because of availability and cost.
Also the 2010 GT3RS that ran the 24hr Nurburing race used 18's...don't know if that was a rule type of deal or if the car really handles better on 18's vs 19's. Interesting note about that car is Porsche drove it the 2.5 hrs from Porsche to the Ring...raced it....came in 4th in class behind other pure race cars and then drove it back to Porsche! AMAZING! I love that!

I run 18's but have run 19's as well. I switched back due to greater tire availablity.
I don't know why racecars are all on 18's, but would imagine it would be due to rules, getting tires for racing series, is just a mater of making them.
