When I get my car aligned I get a before and after print out...that is how I can see before and after. Plus I stand there with my tech (we are friends) so I see what is going on.

According to Porsche which has the specs on my work order, they consider stock alignment to be with in spec from:

FRONT CAMBER -.2 to -.7
FRONT TOE -.00 to .08
FRONT TOTAL TOE .00 to.17

REAR CAMBER -1.3 to 1.8
REAR TOE .08 to .25
REAR TOTAL TOE .17 to.50

I get about 7K out of my rears. Grrrrr. My fronts (same set, on my 4th set of rears) look brand new.

I was generally getting 10K for the rear & 20K for the fronts, with factory alignment (whatever it may be) and aggressive but not track level driving. The tires all wore straight across. No pronounced tread wear at the edges. Actually, all were replaced with some additional capacity available, as I am aware of the reduced wet use performance with significant tread wear. The car is a daily driver and it makes little sense to run the tires until they are inadequate to meet state inspection limits. Tires are the worst maintenance item on the car.

I got 13.5k from the rear of my Pzeros...although I admit they should have been chanbed at the 12k mark as they were scary greasy and the inside tread was about gone.

I bet you all with stock alignments that your cars alignment is not spot on or at the best alignment that you can get. I am on my 3rd 997 model car and none of them had spot on alignments...they all were way off.

when I got my car re-aligned i looked at the machine and noticed that each wheel was reading different values, on rear axle left camber was -0.7, right camber was -1.3, almost twice as much. I am almost sure it was like that since the beginning on this car.

I wonder how often should alignment be done to 997 cars during their shocks lifespan? Every 20K miles? It generally should not drift too much, right?

You never have to get an alignment once it is set properly. unless an event happens that changes it, such as hitting something, bad ball joint, etc. I have owned cars that never got an alignment in over 200,000 miles.

so springs and shock wear and tear have no effect to camber at al on that suspension? ok if so, I simply did not care even to look yet how is it constructed, it is easier to ask here.

Suspension componants don't sag enough (on average) to have much of an effect of camber. You start considerably negatve to begin with and settling of the suspension reduces negative camber only slightly.

good to know, thanks.

if I put on PSS9 or PSS10 coilovers - do they have same upper mount plate design essentially, so I will have same -1 degree front camber limit with them, or can it do more without installing gt3 lca`s?
