How long do your tires last
How long are your tires lasting you. I have Continental Conti sports on and they seem (rears) to last only a little more than 10,000 miles. Sounds about right? Seems awfully low, i expected around 15k -20k out of the tires.
12-15k average rear, a set of fronts every other set of rears.

I had Conti sports on one of my former Porsches and only got 7500 miles on the rear . My Michelins PS2's pull over 10K .
My lowest ever -Bridgestone S01 on my 95 993 =6200 miles
My best = Michelin Ps2 -- Nearing 10K miles.

My street tires have 8k miles on them and look new.
The alignment that comes on your Carrera has a lot of toe in it. Toe will wear out the tires more than camber will. I have found that .02 toes per side up front and -1 camber and .14 toe per tire and -1.4 in the rear works well and will help tire wear and the car will turn in more crisp.
I used this as my track and street set up for 2 years. My street tires wore great and I got well over 15,000 miles on my 06 with this set up and my track tires wore better too.
For my 09 Carrera S I added GT3 cup lower control arms, used basically the same toe specs but now have -2 camber front and -1.8 rear. Not idea for the street but awesome for the track. The car is still very drivable on the street but will wander with the grooves on the road a bit more than the stock settings.

If you are not tracking your car, dialing out some of the negative camber on the rears will allow you to get 20,000+ miles out of the rears and still accomodate aggressive street driving. With negative camber, the more straight driving you do, the faster your inside rubber will wear out.

I don't track, and would like to maximize tire life, w/o jeopardizing emergency handling, if you get my drift (no pun
).

I am no expert but from my talks with experts and my experiance I would suggest for pure street driving:
-.8 camber front per side
.04 toe front per side
-1.3 camber rear per side
.14 toe rear per side
I just pulled my alignments from my 2007 and 2009. The 2007 car came with .23 rear toe on right and .13 left and the 2009 car came with .73 rear toe on right and .76 degress left...WOW...both cars factory alignments were a mess.
How did you "pull alignments"? Any idea what the settings are supposed to be from the factory ?
