Thumbs up EVO / GIAC 997 Performnance Software Release

After many months tuning the 997 and 996 3.6L, EVO and GIAC are ready to release the 3.6L performance software for both cars. We have spent many long hours on our dyno and on the street to maximize the power output while maintaining a smooth power curve throughout the rev range. This upgrade is available with the new flashloader technology, which allows us to upgrade the cars ECU through the OBD port without having to touch the computer. We can also “bench flash” this ECU which allows us to upgrade the ECU with a simulated OBD port in our facility on units that are mailed to EVO. This upgrades the ECU with the same flashloader technology without ever opening the unit. This technology is undetectable by the Porsche scan tool so there is no need to worry about dealer service issues.

Details and Pricing:

EVO/GIAC Stage 1 Software Upgrade: We were able to increase power with the chip alone by 9 peak wheel HP and 6 peak wheel TQ. There is a max power gain of about 12 wheel HP and 12 wheel TQ at various different RPM ranges. $997

EVO/GIAC Stage 2 Software / Air Intake Upgrade: Power is significantly improved with the increased in intake air velocity through our new air intake due to debut Dec. 10, 2004. This combination yields 17 peak wheel HP and 11 peak wheel TQ. There is a max power gain of about 22 wheel HP and 18 wheel TQ at various different RPM ranges. $TBD

We will be updating the website with the 997 dyno graphs today.
Contact me directly if anyone has any questions.

The 997S will be our next project. I am waiting on a car so that we can start our "S" program. The car that we are suppose to get is a few months away. Anyone in the PHX area interested in some free upgrades in trade for the use of the car, let me know.

Todd, can this be done locally by one of your sc installers? I am very interested in the combo setup, esp if it is undetectable. Could this be bolted on/off easily if I sold the car?
How big of a deal is it to remove and send in the ecu unit?
