Winter Wheel Protection

For those of you with garage queens, don't cringe. I've owned an '83 911SC and '88 Carrera which I drove during the winter months in New England on summer tires. I only took it out when the roads were bare -- no snow, no slush, no rain. I just can't leave the Porsche in the garage for four months without driving it when conditions warrant.

Now I own an '05 Carrera S with Carrera Classic aluminum wheels and plan to drive during the winter only on dry roads. My question is whether anyone is aware of any type of applicant that I can apply/coat my wheels with that protects from salt, road grime, etc? I'm religious about washing the Porsche at least weekly, so if that is all that's required - easy enough. Thanks.

I use Rejex on my wheels, i just find the brake dust and salt comes off easier, but then again i also use a seperate set of rims & tires since i drive it in snow, slush and sunshine

Thanks for the info. Is Rejex available retail or online?

i bought it online, do a google for rejex

i also used it on my car, does wonders

just make sure you follow the instructions, there's a curing period so it's not just an easy spread and wipe application

Rejex is available on-line (and in some stores). Google it.

I use Klasse AOI and Klasse sealant - wash the wheels well to clean them up, make sure they're dry, then apply per the instructions. Easiest while the wheels are off the car, of course. Lasts all winter for me, especially if washing is ONR and not car washes (too much soap).

Both Rejex and Klasse are available through Amazon.com. Klasse is like regular wax - put it on and buff it off pretty much right away - no curing time.

poorboy's wheel wax. It's saved my bacon a few times here for Chicago winters.
