Best Mod you have made to your 997?
Best Mod you have made to your 997?
What mods have you done and which one's were really worth the extra $$$? Now that I have my new 997 S, I am starting to put the list of mods together. Thought I would see what others have done and how each worked out for you.
In order:
For looks....I built my own sideskirts and rear spats. Also the wheels.
For go.......Modified supercharger, expensive but well worth it!
AWE high flow cats and Fabspeed headers, mufflers.

Best value is definitely the Gundo hack, although I love the SmartTop and am very happy with my Mobridge and also my RE-11 tires. The other things I did were the clear sidemarkers and the DoorPlugs from BumperPlugs (which cover over the keyhole in your driver's door with a body colored plug-in).
I would do the;
High Flow Cats, they will increase your performance and improve your sound.
Lower the car with Coil Overs, improves the looks and handling.
Nothing against the Gundo Hack, but all it will do is change the sound, there is no performance improvements from this mod.

Ok then,
Looks: OZ Ultraleggeras (lightweight & good price)
Handling: Coilovers, if not springs & sway bars should be enough, Custom alignment
Performance: Headers & 200 CEL Cats, maybe a BMC air filter

Looks:
- clear side markers
- mono silver/black wheel centers
- tire valve stem caps to match (silver/black)
- silver frunk crest
All look much better with Seal Grey, in my opinion.
Even though these are cosmetic tweaks I'd say these add at least +20-25HP, no doubt about it.

cheap way to see a difference I thought that helped in breathing issues, was I got a Fabspeed Cai for $225. The sound is AWESOME at WOT and even just taking off. Also do the BMC Air Filter $110. This combo helped my breathing issues big time in my car. And Monday im flashing my car with EVOMSit.
You're ME to choose?
LOL! I obviously couldn't, and so have tried just about everything out there, other than an SC, which could be next
Here are my favorites:
For looks: love my Misha GT2 rear wing, (and soon to add GT3 front bumper) but a far cheaper and certainly impactful mod is vinyl. A simple stripe, or something more extreme like the checkerboard by the rear wheels of the 2010 GT3RS- take a look and you'll see what I mean. That same treatment can be done for about $400, and it's totally reversible. Window tint is also a good and inexpensive visual mod.
For sound: dollar for dollar the Gundo hack can't be beat. However, the AWE cats really make a great difference in sound AND performance.
For performance: AWE cats, hands down. I like my EVOMS cold air intake, LOVE my lightweight flywheel, but dollar for dollar the AWE cats (on sale now for $1,445) are a terrific upgrade.
Handling: coilovers are great, but simple lowering springs for $300 make a big difference. Add some strut braces and you'll really see a difference, also for a couple hundred dollars.
For enjoyment: can't beat the Dension Gateway 500. Being able to play your iPod, and control it via PCM has really made my car more enjoyable, day in and day out. It's a simply DIY, and for $475 it's a great addition.
