Gas Gauge Levels

Yesterday as i was driving home, i was near empty. The low fuel light came on, and my computer was telling me i had about 35 miles left.

As i was far from my usual 94 Octane gas station, i stopped at Shell and put in $15 of 91 octane to get me home to refuel

After pumping the $15 and starting my car, the gas gauge was the same (w/the low fuel light on), and even the computer read 35 miles left. As i started driving home, the gauge kept going down, and the computer was reading down as well (35, 33, 30 etc...)

I took the car out this morning to refuel, and still had the low fuel warning on, and by the time i reached my gas station, my computer was reading 20 miles left

This is the 3rd time this happens to me, it seems it won't register until i fill up full

Wondering if anyone has experienced this

w

evolveC4 is infamous around these parts
Same thing happens to me almost every time I put less than 5 gallons in
the car from near empty, don't worry about it, my car has been doing this
since I bought it. Some of the wierd minor electrical issues these cars have.

This "level sensor failure" happened to mine......and then the gas gauge stopped working entirely within a few months of purchase. I brought it back to the dealer -and they recalibrated or replaced a sensor...and that didn't work. Then they replaced both the tank sensors and the connection to the instrument cluster . (I believe, there are two). Now it works fine.
