I've decided about what wing to get. Please advise where I can find a duck tail for my 997.1? I figured Mashaw but their email link (page) doesnt work. Anywhere else I can find this item?

Are you looking for the old ducktail design, or are you looking for a more modern day interpretation of the ducktail?

 

I know that currently no one makes the sport classic ducktail. MaShaw and Getty have one that looks more like the old school one but personally I like the sport classic much better. Both Ma Shaw and getty told me they were working on a new version, but I asked in october and neither is done yet : (

 

Agreed. I like the new sport classic ducktail as well. I think the closest to this would be Misha's customed ducktail.

 

I would really love the old fashioned flat 911SC rear whale tale spoiler. Flat, not too wide and not that over blown. Almost like the base of a GT2 wing. I've never seen one like it for the 997.

 

There has got to be enough demand out there for the sport classic ducktail replica that would justify the efforts from one of our vendors. I'd be one of the first to buy if that ever becomes available.

 

I, too would be in for a sport classic ducktail rep rather than the old school ones that mashaw and getty have.

Retro Duck tail is exactly what I'm looking for at the moment. I will call Mashaw today and try my luck, if not, maybe some European vendors. Has anyone come across with this tail on a 997.1 ? I believe this board is the ultimate source so more help is much appreciated, thanks all!

 

I just spoke with Michael at Mashaw, what a fantastic guy! He was really helpful and very kind about my order of the ducktail decklid. Its primed already so just needs a paint job. If you ask me, one of the nicest convos I had with an aftermarket manufacturing company! Class-act!

 

did you ever get your ducktail installed? can you send me a pic? I love that old style look and was curious how it turned out and what it ended up setting you back.
