Sounds like snake oil to me. I did a web search and found the link below. Interesting reading. I have no other interest here but to present additional information.

Oily indeed. Interesting article. Perhaps living sport on for those w/ SC might do the trick...

Can you please clarify what this product does?

From what I can tell, it does not impact the engine's capacity, output, or intake. Is its benefit that it makes the throttle body respond more quickly to throttle pedal input? And if so, by what margin?
Thanks!

The Sprint Booster has a significant and very loyal user base over on the BMW forums that I frequent. Nothing in that PDF is news to any of the BMW users, they are fully aware that it is essentially a signal amplifier, but nonetheless it remains one of the most popular mods for modern BMW's (which have the same throttle issues as our 997s). As for the throttle delay point, the BMW community also tends to report that the delay is indeed greatly reduced or eliminated. Based on the evidence I've seen - a number of happy customers - I don't think it's fair to say this is snake oil.

I know this is an old link but since I just installed one of these modules on my Mercedes, I can assure you, it is definitely not "snake oil!" I know I am speaking of a non Porsche application but my AMG C55 is a completely different car with it. My car always had power but you really had to mash on the pedal to extract it and there was always a lag between the time it took to step all the way down and the time it took to register with the computer/throttle body. When using the SB in race or "red" mode, my car has ridiculous juice. Perhaps it's just giving me the power I already had but the fact that it's ready when you need it makes it more functional and fun. I was so fired up, I just bought one for my 911 C2 as well. I'll report back on that for those who are interested. If the Porsche applcation works the same as my benz, it will be money well spent.

Fascinating; would also be interested in any anecdotal observations regarding effects, if any, on fuel economy. Thank you.

I have the sprint booster installed on my car as well. It is a fantastic addition to all the mods I have done. So much better then the ECU upgrade for throttle response. Response is the only thing this mod enhances.

Just following up on an earlier post I made in this thread... I just installed a Sprintbooster on my C2 and it is just as impactful as it was on my Benz C55. These things are incredible; 300 bucks, plug and play in 15 mins and bang - a much more responsive car. I have a base C2 without the sport chrono so I can't comment on how it compares to pushing the sport button but acceleration is REAL snappy now. I have a 6 speed and I'm no pro at shifting so I probably lose a lot of acceleration there but I can imagine using this module on a a tiptronic would make the car REALLY REALLY quick. My benz is an auto and that thing is an absolute beast with the SB. I would strongly encourage anyone to try it out. They even offer a 30 day guarantee so you can send it back. But I can tell you right now, you won't!

I have one, and it is phenomenal. I'm surprised that all it does is remove the electronic throttle delay; it really feels like there is actually higher engine rev at any position of the throttle above idle with the unit turned on (in Race mode) versus turned off. It is MUCH more impressive than pushing the Sport button. HOWEVER, the install is much more difficult than those instructions imply. Specifically, disconnecting the OEM cable connector from the throttle assembly is very difficult; that step took me and a friend who is a Porsche mechanic well over an hour of sweating and swearing to accomplish.

Thumbs up + 1

I installed mine this morning. Highlights included snapping off the grey release tab, which some light profanity and a couple of zip ties resolved.

There is defintely a more lively throttle feel, so thumbs up here.

+1 on those comments. Thanks to OP for instruction pics too! helpful. Liking it a lot.

Also, noticed the green/red light is always powered. Another drain on Batt.

Sounds like a great option... still have a couple questions:

Anyone try this on a 997 turbo?

Is this permanete upgrade? "Highlights included snapping off the grey release tab"

I don't drive mine much, "noticed the green/red light is always powered. Another drain on Batt." is this a good idea for weekend vehicles?

- check website for your car or shoot them an email, that's what I did, heard back next day
- grey tab not that big a deal
-figured it would be on the Battery charger all winter anyway.

Grey tab not a big deal at all - just pissed off at my own ineptitude at the time.

You can switch to "normal" mode with no light, so no worries about battery drain.

It is a great addition for the price.

Hi

I am trying to install the sprint booster in 2010 997.2. I had no problem installing the sprint booster and removing the clip in my 2006 Cayenne S but having trouble now.

My question is: does the Gray clip snap down and stay down or do you have to hold constant pressure on the clip while simultaneously pulling up on the harness to disconnect?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
