Installed a Sprint Booster on my 997 C2 (instructions w/ pics)
I bought a Sprint Booster from GMP Performance and it was delivered today! Great price and fast shipping... wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Thanks Cameron and Matthew for the follow-up.
Here are some install instructions for you guys. I apologize about the poor quality/lighting of the pics.
To start off, here's what you get.
OK, here we go. Probably take out the floor mat... not necessary I guess, but I didn't want anything in my way at all because we're removing the accelerator pedal assembly.
EDIT: You may not have to remove the pedal assembly (I actually don't know what Sprint Booster themselves recommend). If you want to try to install the Booster without doing this, skip down to where I describe how the connector works. However, I took out the assembly for superior access.
Grab a phillips screwdriver and remove the 1 screw holding the assembly in.
Now pull up on the entire assembly (doesn't need a lot of force) and it will dislodge from the floorpan so you can pull it away somewhat for access to the plug in back.
Now we have to remove the connector. My index finger is pointing to it in this pic:
You have to depress the gray piece in order to remove the connector. This will take some force -- really press down hard! In the following pic, the connector has already been depressed and I added a red arrow to signify that.
Now you can take out the pedal assembly. Here's the female connector on the back:
Install the sprint booster into the connector that is now hanging on the floor. This, again, will take some force, and once you have it all the way in, the gray piece will snap out as seen in this pic.
Now snap the connector on the pedal assembly onto the sprint booster:
Slide the pedal assembly back into place on the floorpan and reinstall the phillips screw. Here's a final pic showing the sprint booster in its new home!
I took a short drive after the install and it really does increase throttle response! The best way I can put it is that it decreases the lag that the car always had when you stepped on the pedal -- which, I'll admit, was still nothing compared to the lag on my Lotus Elise (also drive-by-wire). I'm definitely going to have to get one for that car now!

erv: I don't have the sport chrono option on my car, so I can't comment, but I notified GMP of this thread and hopefully they can chime in and shed some light on that for you.

The sprint booster effects the throttle response before the ECU tells the engine and its components to do anything. So it enhances the throttle response in any form the car is w/ or w/o sport chrono, w/ or w/o an ECU Upgrade (DME Flash) exhausts, intake, etc. Whatever you have done to your car to achieve more power and better response, the sprint booster will make it better so its a must have for stock cars with or without sport chrono and heavily modified cars especially those equipped with AT transmissions.

The 997AT and the 997MT units are all the same for all 997's. They fit all 997's narrow and wide turbo and NA applications.
