So who drove his car today ?
Just went out for a quick run with my daughter for an after Xmas exchange. Lightly raining and about 38 deg. Heck, I bought this car to drive it. Has nice traction with the all season tires in the wet. Just enough to warm her up and hear the roar of the EVOMS intake. No fishtailing with the kid in the car, otherwise I definitely would have been getting sideways
- I love to play in the wet! You guys who avoid the rain don't know what you're missing!

OK ... I just got home from the beach with the wife and my very responsible 18 year old said I haven't let him drive it since I purchased it back in July. I just handed him the keys (to his astonishment) and said... "Have fun and be careful" ... Hope I don't have any regrets. Looks like I'm taking the Escalade out for dinner tonight
You let your 18 year old take out your '09 TT cab??? You are a brave man. Either he will love you for at least a week or you will regret it for longer
I had a VW bug when I was 18. I remembered I would take out my dad's Cadillac and go to parking lots and do burnouts with it (about all it was good for). And I was about as straight as they come! I'm so glad I didn't have access to a fast car when I was a kid, I'd have wrapped it around a tree

Hey, that's not bad, he was only gone an hour? Better check the ODO, see how much ground he covered.
Agree with rye3- most kids no matter how responsible will have a tough time controlling themselves behind the wheel of a car, much less a 997 Turbo. I was a complete nerd, did well in school, and lived at home for the first 2 years of college- which was my side of the deal before the folks would considering buying a car, which turned out to be a new 5-spd '88 Honda CRX, and thank god my parents had the sense to get the neutered version of the CRX- 4 cyl, 70 hp, 50 mpg. On flat ground, no wind, it could hit 75 mph, and would take at least 30-40 seconds to get there. Even then, got a (few) speeding tickets and a couple of fender-benders, but golly, that was a fun car. It was so light that 3 guys could easily pick up the back end and move it to help get in and out of tight parallel parking spots in downtown Chicago-

thumbs up to you....I got my daughter a Boxster to drive around in when she got her license and the first words she said was "the perfect car...I don't have to taxicab my friends around town and can enjoy the car on my terms" It mostly sits in the garage except when she want to go on errands. Mostly, her friends pick her up..nothing like a 2 seater!!!
I still worry every second with all the Florida crazy people. Us locals know EXACTLY what I mean

Awesome, I didn't expect anything different
.
Oh, and when I had the VW bug it was a 35hp '64. I would 3 wheel it...
If I had a turbo I might let my kids drive it (sometime in the future)...with me in the car!

No one drives my Turbo except the one person who did the work to bring it to the current level .
Looks great!! Always wanted to go there but never have . As a kid I had always imagined surfing Banzai Pipeline but never thought of driving a Porsche there too . Looks like you have the full setup.
Well I took the car out again today . It was actually a blend of fun and stress . The roads were not too congested and the beach was even more crowded than in the summer . That's the good part . It was just pleasant driving most of the way and again the nice cars were out. On the way a car pulled alongside me that i never saw before . From the front it looked like a viper and the rear looked like an opel Gt . It had track numbers on it and looked real cool .
Now the stress . On the way while just cruizing a car blew by and I thought I had seen everything but never expected to see that it had an oven hanging in an open trunk .That's right .. a huge oven !!!! The idea that this thing could have fallen out onto the highway was unreal .
Then I get to beach. I see an open diagonal parking space but next to it is a huge parked SUV and a guy with a bunch of kids had the doors flung open as they were getting in. Even though my spot was open I patiently waited for him and his kids to climb in with a line of cars behind me and no one honked the horn . I figured that once the kids got in and closed the doors then I could pull into the open spot which was next to him . Well he didn't wait . I wonder if he even waited for his kids to buckle up because as soon as the last door closed he slammed that SUV into reverse . I backed up and he kept going .The guy in back of me even backed up but we were both running out of room as i honked my horn . This SUV guy nearly creamed my front end and then gave me the look for honking my horn . What an arrogant POS but he didn't hit me so it's all ok.
