So who drove his car today ?
It's very rare to see a Friday when the majority of business is closed . So out came Santa's sleds . I saw lots of nice cars today and took the time to drive both of mine back to back. First came the Turbo --I drove it nowhere in particular . I simply wanted to warm it up . It's still has this glow from the last detail and being that the possibility of drizzle was in the forecast it was just a tease drive to remind me why i love this car so much. Then out came the PDK and rain or shine it was going to the beach . The sun came out from the clouds and not one drop of rain touched my car until I was nearing my home. The roads were moving along well and I have not seen the beach this crowded in awhile despite the partial clouds. I suppose this is the height of vacation . I did not go to Miami or Ft Lauderdale but instead opted for Delray Beach . The drive up and back takes enough time to blend driving into the day .
I hope everyone's day was good and was hoping to hear of those who took out their 997/997S sled for a drive.

Whatelse is there to say? 911s excel on tight twisty roller-coaster asphalt ribbons and that's what I drove today. Do you want me to extol its fabulous lateral grip, post-apex linear acceleration, fabulous brakes, telepathic sport mode PDK, go-kart-like dynamics, flat cornering superb suspension, and awesome steering?
PS - these are the roads when the steering wheel is turned 180deg, where the dual redundant PDK buttons really excel. There's never a doubt where the downshift paddle is... Either pulled button, no matter where it is produces an error-free downshift. PAG PDK buttons rule tight mountain driving and
canyon carving.

Well, this morning I loaded up the car with the wife and my 3 year old twin girls, who love pappa's fast vroom vroom car, and we went on a great drive up Mt Diablo. Very tight smooth mountain road with a nice incline. You can't really get on it because of bicycle traffic but the scenery is stunning. Then my sister and her family came over and I had to go get chinese food for dinner. They all fought to go with me but my feisty sister, who drives a Hemi Pick Up, pulled rank and we went for a spin. I just had to pass some bmw getting on the freeway and when I stomped on it the biggest smile came over her face accompanied by a wheeeee sound.
Everyone on my side of the family is a gear-head. My Dad used to race blown fuel boats and my mom used to drag race growing up. They're all into muscle cars but I've always admired european style and performance.

Yesterday, drove from MA to NJ in below freezing weather, for the first few hours.
Dry roads and light traffic made for a uneventful ride. I had been a little wary, because of the summer tires, but once they warmed up, all was well and I had a bit of fun!

Loading up the car with the wife and heading to Ft. Lauderdale Beach. A little chilly this morning with the top down but 66 degrees is better than most of the country so what the hell.

Gaaaak. Beach. Warmth. Here the high was zero and snowing. Did NOT take out the 997! Drove wife's Subaru Outback for a VERY short day of some of the coldest, nastiest skiing I've done in a long time. Oh, and did I mention that I hit a hidden rock on a newly opened run and broke a ski? Merry Christmas. Bah, humbug!
I took her out in very cold weather, i was getting nervous because i haven't driven her, in almost a month because of the weather, but oh how she loved the cold air that was sucked into the air vents. Like Larrytrk I was kind of scared of the ps2 i have on the car, but they held up pretty well, when i took it up to....., well lets say a fast speed.....lol

Too funny. I was skiing 2 weeks ago in Breckenridge wind chill -39 ... not fun the coldest I have ever been in
There was still two to three inches of ice frozen on my neighborhood roads so I haven't driven her in about two weeks
On a good note, I am going to pick up my GT3 rear bumper from the dealer ship today!!

Washed the car on Christmas eve under sunny skies but it was about 27 degrees outside. Was going to drive the car to the in-laws Christmas day when we realized the wife, child, and all the presents weren't going to fit so out went the wife...................kidding. Ended up taking the DD instead.
