997 Alcantara Dash, Short Shifter, Pedals and more installed by G Rides, many picture

Happy New Year Everyone! We just wrapped up this project yesterday for a 6Speed Member. Thanks so much for the work, we really appreciate it and hope you enjoy the new additions to your Porsche.

We installed an Alcantara Covered Steering Wheel from a GT3 RS a while ago, which seemed to start the Alcantara Snowball rolling. We started this latest project with removing the original dash and some other bits and pieces (V1 Installed with G Bracket ).

We also installed Eibach Lowering Springs and some new Exhaust Tips to go with the Tubi Mufflers and FabSpeed X-Pipe we installed a while ago, I'll start a different thread for that work. Thanks again for the continued work and support.

Very good look on the dash. Was the sewing and fabrication for the dash done in-house?

It looks good but how do think it will wear? After all, it is cloth.

Great pictures. First time I've seen a dash removed. How many hours of labor to remove? Have you ever converted one to the "full leather" look?

Matter of taste. I like real leather best, but it`s me. If someone like alcantara - why not?
Still, very expensive upgrade was shown here and well done, whoever paid for it should be very happy now.

Looks great to me but I'm partial to alcantara. I'm surprised that you didn't have the center/rear (between the front seats) done in the same material.
BTW, this stuff is tougher than it looks. It's 'cloth' but completely synthetic. Ferrari uses it to completely cover the Scuderia interior surfaces and the GT3 seat bottoms also use it.

Looking at these pictures, with my car torn apart is kinda creepy. The finished product looks even better than these pictures convey. G-Rides did a great job with the install... even going so far as to fix a few broken mounting tabs, and burning midnight oil to get it all done.

One more round of mods later this month, and I think my car will be complete... at least until the mod bug bites again.

I like how my console is painted in exterior color. If it was just plain black plastic, I'd probably look into wrapping it in alcantara.

you almost have to now replace the upper console sides. durability is not a problem.

my gt3 has the full leather option which means you get even more alcantara coverage than the non full leather GT3's. steering wheel, shifter, boot, e-brake, seat centers and back rests, lower doors and handles, roof, rear quarters, arm rest. mixed with the full leather, its a real treat for the senses.

the alcantara dash in the pics above looks excellent and a great way to dress up a non leather car.

i have a feeling this is a factory piece, otherwise they could have worked his old dash with the alcantara

Nice, but I am sure it wasn't an inexpensive mod.

Why not do the e-brake and door handles (the long vertical parts), too?

Thanks for all the feedback, this was a fun project. Axxlrod supplied the Alcantara dash already covered, which I believe he bought from another 6Speed Member. We do not do upholstery in-house, but can source the work. We have not done a full leather conversion but that would be fun also. We are in San Luis Obispo, CA, for quotes please give us a call or email, we love the work and take pride in it.
