sport shifter

Is this option still available from Porsche? I have it on my '09 C2s and will order it again, but I don't see it on the configurator. I know that a number of companies offer it aftermarket, but I would prefer to have it installed when my car is being built.

ato911 is infamous around these parts
You know, I can't find it either. But, I do have the sport shifter on my 2010 997.2 S, so it has to be available. I agree that the sport shifter is definitely a "must have".

I don't believe it's on the configurator but it's listed in their tech equiment catalog. I almost ordered it on my car but chickened out at the last minute.

It's now exclusively a dealer installed option. In the past you could order it from the factory or from the dealer, now just the dealer. I just got one from Huntington Porsche for $299 (they had a special). Fantastic shifter, just like my 997 GT3, only with a less stiff spring.

Not available from the factory anymore? Why not?

Silly questions, I know. The answer to all these questions is always the same... $.

I heard it was complaints. People would order it from the factory and later complain it's too "notchy", 1st stuck, etc. -- especially in colder climates. Porsche still makes and sells it, I guess they'd rather only sell them to those knowing the risks going in.
