I was originally looking at the Fabspeed Side Muffler Bypass Pipes (sounded louder than the X-Pipe and was a lot cheaper and a lot lighter - what's not to like) but I was told by Jason at Fabspeed (no longer with them) back in Jan 2009 that the Side Muffler Bypass set-up was way too loud for normal street driving, it had lots of drone, and it was a better bet for track use only. I went with his recommendation and got the X-Pipe and was disappointed. I have followed Mdrums comments about his experience with the Fabspeed Side Muffler Bypass Pipes and his observations after driving the Rennsport-1 side muffler delete set-up. It sounds like drone is still a problem with the Fabspeed pipes and barely a problem with the Rennsport-1 pipes (please correct me if I am wrong Mike). Speaking about the Rennsport-1 set-up, does anyone have any dyno data on HP/TQ gains vs stock?

1. What were you looking for in an exhaust (sound quality, HP gains, looks, price)

SOUND AND SOME HP/TQ GAINS

2. What model do you have (3.6 or 3.8) and which system/manufacturer did you go with (side mufflers and/or center muffler delete)

C4S 3.8

FIRST I INSTALLED THE SHARKWERKS BYPASS PIPE. PERFECT PRODUCT, BUT TOO SUBTLE THE SOUND CHANGE

AFTER SOME WEEKS I ADDED THE TUBI SIDE MUFFLERS TO COMPLEMENT THE SHARKWERKS BYPASS PIPE. THE SOUND IS MUCH NICER NOW !

3. How much did you pay.

SLIGHTLY LESS THAN THE PRICE SHOWN ON SHARKWERK'S WEBSITE

4. Installation/quality of product (any problems).

ALL PERFECT

5. Experience working with manufacturer/dealer (good or bad).

ALEX IS ONE OF THE BEST CAR PARTS SUPPLIERS I'VE MET !

6. Results/observations/recommendations (sound quality, any drone/resonance, HP gains, any dyno information, any video/sound clips, overall satisfaction).

GENERALLY SPEAKING, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY ACTUAL SYSTEM. I WOULD RATE IT AT 9/10

Not to get off the subject, but I just purchased 09CS2 . I love the car but can't stand the exhaust tips. Thinking of changing to Fabspeed, Tubi, Agency Power or even different OEM tips. Any thoughts or pictures would be greatly appreciated... Thanx

Unfortunately no I did not get the before (but will still attempt an "after").

My timing was not all that great... The week I had wanted to get the run done, out of the handfull of places I called, well lets just say I did not feel comfortable taking the car to any of them w/o some stap-down damage, and I've seen flatbed services with better car care. One that I had originally wanted to use felt it was more important to head out of town for a show vs the potential for some local business. Most of them, as with many, the dyno is low on their list for revenue.

I will probably still search out for an "after" reading, then in-theory we should have a comparison of sorts. (Meaning no matter what I turn up should not be below a few baseline readings from the various vendors).

KaamaCat,
Thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing your results when you do that "after" dyno run. Thanks.
