I am thinking of going to these rotors for next year, looking for a slotted only rotor.

 

Great Rotors, save over 3lbs per corner with Aluminum Hat vs. Cast Iron Stock. I believe sizes are the same so they may be used as a direct replacement, working with stock calipers. Here's a couple pictures from a set we installed on a 997 Turbo Cab, with GiroDisc Braided Lines and Motul RBF 600 Brake Fluid, these rotors even retain the parking brake function as the rears have a drum like stock.

 

We use Girodisc and have been very happy with the results. We recently installed them on a customer's EVT700 997 Turbo cab, which sees occasional track time too.

 

do those rotors rust in same way as stock ones?

 

$2550 for set of 2. I changed my mind, I do not need them.

 

RSS on their webiste shows 2500 for a set of 4...didn't check if this is an error though.

I believe the 997.1Sand .2 S have 330mm size front rotors with these being 340mm.

You are right, you probably don't need them. They are effective at reducing unsprung weight and are less likely to crack under extreme heat...you won't need either of those for your car!

 

Right, I do not think my car needs that. My car needs brand new 355mm Brembo set and will get it sometime this fall, probably after 3rd quarter bonus.

But you go ahead with $2550 rotors, if that is what your car needs. I have no issues with that.

 

The Turbo Rotors in my pictures were both 350mm and a direct replacement. Spoke with RSS and you are correct Dave regarding the 997.1 C2S, stock front rotors being 330mm. The Girodisc kit for the 997.1, slotted are actually 350mm as well, they utilize spacers for the calipers and longer caliper bolts. The large diameter Girodisc rotors are still lighter than stock and can increase brake torque from the larger diameter. Retail for the set of 4 is $2,200.00. 997.2 kit is available also. Please let me know if you have anymore questions, we are an RSS Dealer. The Girodisc's on the 997 turbo cab, after many months and miles of driving still look like new. The car was at G Rides a couple weeks ago and honestly someone looked at it and said "hey G Rides, did you just put new brakes on that?"

 

Sure add extra unsprung weight to your car, that should help with AutoX, a set is roughly $1200 to the $7000 Brembo 355's that won't decrease stopping distance, although they will dissipate heat very well.
