Anyone ever install a secondary alarm system?

A separate alarm to alert you to glass break-in or someone hitting the car? I live in a condo unit and I have my own assigned, underground parking spot but if someone hits me or breaks into the car, I won't know it. I was thinking of installing a second alarm with it's own battery that will page me. Has anyone done this?

There are excellent, well integrated systems out there. I'd recommend you start with Viper.

Features today are amazing, and include anything things such as:
-remote starters (great for the cold days),
-apps for iphone to enable lock or unlock from your iphone
-customizable voice warning (in English or Japanese, paired with alarm warning)
-field disturbance sensors
-glass break sensors, etc.

Start with Viper: www.viper.com, they seem to be the most innovative, and offer limitless customization, accessories, etc.

if your car was locked and you touch anything inside it will start screaming.
IMHO stock alarm system is pretty good as it is.

I added LoJack which will allow the car to be tracked if stolen. I think it saved me 10-15% on car insurance. It's one of those things that you'll hopefully never use but adds some piece of mind and will pay for itself (over 3-5 years) with the insurance discount.
