trying to make a buy decision. I can steal a new 09 C2S in the color I want from a couple of dealers. Neither have Sport Chrono. Is this a big deal? 2 dealers told me it would limit resale.......

 

What transmission? If its PDK the feature becomes a bit more compelling since it adds launch control.

Also, if your 'stealing' the car why worry about resale hit for not having it? Your coming out the same in the end.

 

If the car has PDK it's a must have option.
Even if it doesn't it can limit resale .

The big debate tends to hinge on spending extra money to have an item which those who oppose it feel is useless . Then they go to sell the car someday and they lose the same money facing a buyer who feels the car is worth less for not having it.

Some people don't like the looks of the dial . They call it 'the wart" placing a negative spin on it. I kinda like how it looks and might just refer to it in the future as "the beauty mark" .

In your case --if you are debating it and you don't have the car --it may really bother you long after you saved the money.

My guess is that the aqua blue non PDK cab is the deal ? Or the macadamia Targa ?
Also --I hope you are getting upwards of 20 percent on an 09 off.

 

Try a search on Sport Chrono and you'll find dozens of threads asking the same question and you'll be able to read the pros and cons in much more detail. My feeling reflects those above. If the car has PDK, then you need it. If not, then you don't. Me, I don't like anything about it in a manual car - heck, I'm so old fashioned I even got the 022 Black Dials for a more traditional dash look.

 

Easy answer: stick with your GT3

 

I went from 07 GT3 to 09 C2S Sport PASM and never looked back. The 997.2 C2S is that good...
