Can the new AWD be driven in just RWD-mode by simply lifting up the e-brake a 1-notch???? Is this the case for only PDK?
Seems like the answer is yes but for how long a distance is this appropriate?

I am not so sure the answer is yes. When I pull the parking brake up one notch on my car it certainly feels like the parking brake is engaged, and "Brake" shows up in my instrument cluster. I don't feel comfortable trying to drive the car like this, so I haven't done it.

If anyone else has any actual experience with this please chime in.

doesnt engage at one notch, when the light lights up thats when you know its disengaged...

watch the video above... he goes over it.. i also read it somewhere else once when researching PDK trans... it has something to do with the trans/the clutch/

ill try and find the other reference i found.. the front axle is setup where when it disengages its 100% disengaged so doesnt harm anything, and ebrake does nothing till higher clicks.. thats why it takes like a full pull to get it to "stay still"

Maybe your ebrake is set up very tight and engages at one click?

Pulling up the e-brake would have been an ideal solution, but being an enthusiast I chose manuals. I can confirm the e-brake trick, I remember it from Jay Leno's Garage.

So what about disconnecting the driveshaft?
