Independence of PCM 3 'Sound' settings

This is a question for '09, '10 owners.

The 'Sound' settings in PCM 3 Bass/Treble/Fade/Balance/Loudness are supposed to be independent from Source to Source. For example one can set Bass+ 2 in FM and Bass at zero in Disc. But... can you set Loudness in one source and not in others? I found that on my 2010 (non-Bose) PCM 3 if Loudness is set in one source, the system will set Loudness in all sources, and if one goes back and turns off Loudness in one source it will turn it off in all sources. It sounds to me like a software bug.

What happens in your (non-Bose or Bose) system?

I'll check it today, mine is Bose, I think it is separate...I keep it off though, so I'm not certain...

Bose on 997.2 does not have loudness. Although it does have an "Audiophile" or Linear setting (opposite of Loudness probably) that is universal to all sources except Surround Discs. That setting is on the Options page of the Sound menu rather than the page with balance and eq.

No Loudness setting in my '09 with BOSE. Other settings (Bass, Treble, Fade, Balance) are independent of source. I just tried it.

My 09 non-Bose Loudness works just like yours. Loudness is not independent source to source. Do you keep yours on or off? I just leave mine on.

Thanks for the confirmation. Clearly a software bug. Re its use... I'm still experimenting. I noticed that because I want loudness off in AM when I listen to traffic reports.
