Best wheels for autoX and track days 18" or 19''

I have a new 911 4S (I am sooooo happy) and I am doing autox and track days, and pretty much going through my tires after 3k miles. I want to get a set of racing wheels/tires, and I want to know if 18" wheels are better, lighter, and cheaper, for racing? Also, what brands of competetion wheels do you recommend? Or, just get competition 19" wheels and tires for the track. Thanks Jmbay

CCW is a great manufacturer; I've seen tons of Porsches with CCW wheels at the tracks. Their prices are really reasonable as well.

18 wheels are lighter, and tires are cheaper. Much better for the track.

Www.ccwheels.com they make very nice wheels! You can also find a set of wheels in the classifieds on this site. I have both 18+19's for the track, and there are pro's and con's for each. 18" has more tire selections, but finding the right aspect is a lot tougher. 19" have less choices, but they are correct OEM sizing.

I would go with 18's as well for less weight and more tire options. Definitely check out CCW, but some other good ones would be OZ, HRE (if you have no budget) and BBS.

go to tirerack - cheaper option is 18" oz allegeritas, better option 18" Volks which are still on sale.

if you have C2S I suspect you will need to change your model to C2 on tirerack to be able to see those 18" rims in the menu.

You also have the HRE Competition wheels available in 18inch, very light wheels.

By "right aspect" what do you mean? Offset? Spacers?
If I went with 18", for my C4S, what would the offsets be both front and back? And how wide for the spacers? Who has this technical information?
Thanks, jmbay

ccwheels.com is just a generic search site.......unless I am missing somthing

As others have recomended....18s generally best for track.....for all reasons given.

Offset/spacers......if the wheels are made to order, no need for spacers.

Aspect is the side wall.

The OEM 295/30/19 vs a 295/30/18 is too short. I run a 315/30/18 and it is still a little shorter but is close enough.

Thanks, it seems that the consensus is that 18" wheels are the best for autox and track days. Will the manufacturer of the wheel know the exact size I need for my C4S? Or, should I run it by my Porsche mechanic at my local dealership?
Sorry if my questions are so basic, I am just learning here, and I really appreciate this forum and the advice given.

If they don't then find someone that does know. If you look on your OEM wheels by your valve stem, you will see two numbers, one is the wheel width, the other one is the offset of the wheel. Use that as your starting point.
