air box fitment
An airbox, in many respects, can be considered as much a body part as an engine part. Airboxes, from car to car, don't generally fit. Here, although the 3.8L 997 engine is very similar to that of the 3.6L 996, the body is different. If "Fit In", means bolts right in, it doesn't look good. I can't see that the benefits, if any, of this modification outweigh the time and costs.
A quick answer... no. Looking at the 996 box on my friends car today, we placed my 997c2S box into the cavity but found the air intake snorkel to be slightly off and a different size. Which is why the K&N filter kit (which fits both) recommends you use the OEM air snorkel.
