Cool

NICE! ( for the 5th X )
Are you going to 'break it in'?

I met a silver S with a paper tag on the highway and we had some real fun.

Congrats!

I have 350 miles on it and have been shifting at between 4500 and 5500 rpms. Have not red lined it yet. Burned about a 1/3rd of a quart of oil.

Oil and running in

My 996 C4S used a lot of oil in the first 2000 miles and then used almost nothing.

Why excede the running in instructions btw? If the instruction book says 4000 rpm max for first 2000 miles why not follow it? You have to assume Porsche wrote that for a reason.

I think the 2000 mile break in period was aimed at owners new to porsches, so they would have time to get used to the cars, and not wrap themselves around a telephone pole.

Just a thought....

At the PDE last year I asked Doc Bundy about the break in period. He looked at me and asked if I still ate soup with a fork? Nuf said!
