How about this 2008 C2S in San Diego?
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=269393009
2008 C2S located in San Diego.
asking $58,999.
What do you think? What would be a fair price? I know I have to get PPI & DME done on it.
Thanks.

This is either really good .. or really bad.
It's really good if -
Good inspections
Good DME
Well maintained
Clean , garage kept , non smoker.
It's really bad if -
All the above proves otherwise and the good ask price was the bait.
Only one way to find out --good luck.

That will be great before I spend the money (seller spending time) for PPI.
I will let you know.

This car has been listed for over 2 months. The price is good so I wonder why it's not sold quickly.
I was looking at it before Christmas but got busy with holiday and went on business trip in January.

Car has been listed for sale for over 2 months at that price, and hasn't sold? Must be a reason why.

Not to bad. Similar but different from a car I looked at yesterday for a fellow 6speeder.
His car:
2008 C2S
10,100 miles
Black
One Owner Car
Being sold my a Porsche dealer - CPO
Options:
459 - Smooth Leather Steering Wheel
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
P01 - Adaptive Sport Seats
XLF - Sport Exhaust System
XD9 - Rims and Caps - Exterior Color
DAD - Gear Lever/Handbrake Alu./Lthr
CUC - Painted Model Desig Rear Lid
CPA - Thicker Leather Steering Wheel
CGA - Headlight Cleaner Cvr Ext.Clr
XSX - Seat Belts - Guards Red
Car was in great condition.
I looked over the mechanical report (as the car was a CPO) and everything looked great. DME scan only showed Level 1 and 2, nothing 3 thru 6. Original tires looked like it had a ton of tread life left so the car most likely wasn't driven hard (as the DME scan proves).
I'm not sure of the actual sale price but it was listed by the dealer for $64,997.
Just wanted to point this out for a reference.

For point of reference: Recently bought from a So Cal P dealer an '07 C2S with similar equipment (except heated seats) and 12,500 miles for $59500, CPO w/ more than 3 yrs on warranty. Pristine, well treated based on Durametric scan. It was on the lot for almost 3 months, price was reduced twice. Maybe the private party seller in this case was offered less (e.g. $55k) by a dealer and thought he could do better selling PP?

His asking price on this 08 is similar to dealer's asking price for an 07.
It's very tempting. I wonder why it's not sold right away.

Question for the OP. Have you called on it? One problem with AutoTrader is that people often leave their cars on long after they've sold. If its been there for months, and its a clean car, then its probably gone.

I've seen this car for a while. E-mailed with him a while ago to ask if the car was still for sale, and it was. However, the mileage was at 24K, and he had done some long trips to push the mileage up. To me, the price is a bit high for that car with no CPO, etc. But worth checking into. Could be in great shape. PPI/DME will tell the story.
