Carpool as a 2 seater?

has anyone successfully gotten away with claiming the car is a 2 seater for commuting?

FB123 is infamous around these parts
You could just remove the rear seats and then be legit!

Do you really want to risk a $381 ticket? Pulling the seat inserts out won't do it as far as CHP is concerned. To really make a legitimate argument you'd have to remove the rear seat belts and seat inserts (probably the backs too - or at least fold them down). There are no shortage of 911's around here and CHP knows they are, by definition, four seaters.

What do you mean? 2-people commuting? You can drive any car on the commuter lane if 2 or more people are inside, 2-seater or 7-seater.

Well, to cross the bay bridge area in the carpool it's three persons
unless you have a two seater.

I am not sure if I am correct but it my understanding that the 911 is listed as a "coupe" (2+2) . The seating configuration may have originally been designed to satisfy import and insurance restrictions for the car.
