GT3 seat install - airbag light & harness bar
996 GT3 - sweet! Congrats! Should be great! Enjoy! I am still holding out for a 997 GT3. I do not believe heated seat required programming, but easy enough to confirm with whoever is doing your reprogram for the airbag. I asume you are sure you reinstalled all the connectors for each seat
yeah i hate to wait for any surprises at the trade in as the reprogram will be done where i am trading in the car...seats look brand new so i hope it is just the reprogram..
and thanks the 996 gt3 should be a hoot on the track a bit faster and less forgiving...a lot more potential. i thought of a 997 gt3 but would only poish it and look at it..would be too paranoid to hit a wall..i think i will push the 6 gt3 harder...
anyone out there had to reprogram their car to get the heaters working?

Upgraded suspension isn't critical, but it is sweet and a real confidence builder - I frequently beat GT3s in the corners - but I have also been passed by lesser cars with better drivers - still learning...
I feel that the suspension helps a lot, but a lot still comes down to talent. I don't have Moton's, but I can hold my own against 996GT3's. Some are faster, some are slower. Have you put an LSD in your C2S, if not I highly recommend it.
Northvan - I saw your recommendation of LSD in another thread - it is next on my list. I really am interested in the Guard 40/60 which helps acceleration and braking - of course it is more expensive than the Quaiffe or the similar Guard TBD. Since I might upgrade, I have been reluctant to invest much more in the 997S... So recently I have been spending money on wheels and tires that could also move to a GT3. Love those 245/35-18 F and 315/30-18 R Hoosier R6's on 18x8.5 and 18x12 OZ Allergeritas!

If you can work it, install the LSD, it may give you another season or two (or more) out of your C2S before it is time to switch to the GT3. In a year or two a 997 GT3 will be cheaper then they are today.
I would agree that the Guard 40/60 is a much nicer differential then my Quaife, but what a huge improvement it has on these cars. I also installed an Aasco LWFW and I find the engine rev's so much faster then with the DMFW. The net result is coming out of a corner, I can hammer on the throttle so much faster, get up to the higher RPM's faster. I too was thinking of a GT3, but I am tight on $ and I also thought how much money do I need to spend to get 1-2 seconds faster. I am getting better at late braking and getting very consistent from lap to lap. And yes the R6's are a lot of fun as well. I am assuming that you have some track seats and harnesses if you are running Hoosiers.

I do have a DAS rollbar with Brey Krausse welded on seat braces for rear impact protection, GT3 Euro seats and nice, padded Teamtech harnesses - the safety items were my 1st mods, I stumbled onto someone selling the rollbar and seats in used but like new condition the day I bought the car - it had to be a sign from God.
The money question is always there - even if you can afford it, how much are you willing to spend on a car and still push it on the track... I waffle on the answer to that - today I am thinking I would be willing to track a 3-4 year old GT3 hard, but anything newer I would be more inclined to wax and drive around town.
and how much was it?
No problem. Dealer turned off light and took car for trade. my 996 gt3 on nitto nt01 is 5 sec faster so far than the 997 s on r888! And I had the 997s for 5 yrs tracked. 6 months with this car. Had susp issues so upgraded to Jrz pros. 226's in cold weather at Sebring. My best in 997 s stock susp was 231. Much better track car Not bad street. Also 996 gt3's are lot lesscommon now than 997s and 997 gt3's. I also do get to pass a fair number of 997 gt3's ! Off to Sebring Sunday!
