Opinions needed re: carbon vs white interior trim

Just a quick question for all you guys (or maybe a better question for your wives)-

On a white 997, what would be the best choice: 1) Keep the "standard" finishes on the center console / dash trim / door sills / door pulls; 2) Go with a painted white center console +/- dash trim / door pulls via Bumperplugs; 3) Carbon center console / dash trim / sills +/- shifter/handbrake (ie. MACarbon). I don't want anything too flashy, but would like a little more pizzazz inside-

It is all a matter of personal choice. Go with what you like.

My concern with a painted console (as well as sport seat backs), while they look much better, is the higher vulnerability to scratches and marks. I'm considering having the center console covered in leather to match the seats, as I feel the plastic console looks a little cheap in a car with a full leather interior.

totally agree it's your preference, but you asked

all that white inside will be over the top. if you have the coin, carbon looks especially nice with white, but the standard should be fine.

My vote is go with white and/or leather accents but don't over do it. Not a fan of the CF look.

That's the tough part (not overdoing it). Had a 2004 987S Anniv Ed with painted (silver) center console which looked great and broke up the otherwise black interior nicely, but white is even more of a contrast- which may be good or bad. I'd like some more visual interest but don't want to be overwhelmed with bits of white everywhere. How about painted white in the same places you'd see with the "small carbon package"?

As the others have said, it's all your preference. I have the MA carbon interior and like it a lot. The pieces are of high quality.
At the same time, I like painted center consoles (bringing the external color in brightens things up). Someone mentioned painted surfaces getting scratched but I'm worried about the same thing happening to the carbon fiber in the long run.
What about a mix: painted center console and a few carbon bits to complement/contrast? (sorry for the poor quality pics, taken on delivery)

If the center stack of the PCM is aluminum I would not do carbon . It looks incomplete. I kinda like the white. My seat backs require no special maintenance .

How are you putting a Porsche children's car seat in the back of your GT3? If I knew that could be done, my decision would be easy.....

I'd stay away from the white. Stands out too much. What about leather accents

If the car has black interior I would suggest going with white accents. My car black interior and I have a dark window tint. If I had carbon parts they would look all black and dull... Especially at night.

+1 on black plastic console looking cheap...
