I was able to get the filter on with the clamp and tighten it fully but the filter was not seated all the way in. Without the clamp the filter rim seats all the way against the housing. The T20 holds it in place. Don't think it is going anywhere. Stock filters slip on sooo easy not concerned about the BMC

Took the entire intake out today. FYI, there are 3 grommets that hold the intake housing. Two under the bottom housing and one towards the rear(this is the one that is visible.)

Hey 07 can you tell me how you like your Viper vs your 911? the Viper is quite the vehicle compared to the 911, almost the polar opposite from my viewpoint
I drove one several years ago. Just curious.
I dont mean opposite bad either I just mean opposite ways of doing things.

Sure OldGuy, Always love talking cars.

Being a true car enthusiast I can honestly say I love both cars and appreciate each for what their respective
manufactures produced them for. Don't know what year Viper you test drove but every year Dodge has improved the car. Current Gen IV's ('08-'10) had many technical improvements most people are unaware of.
The Vipers are extremely fast ..the '05 was modded..the '09 is currently getting work done as we speak. The '09 is a coupe and is a track ready street car. Stock the car runs low 11's..some people have broke into the 10's at MIR..but they are more seasoned drivers. If i had to sum up the Vipers in one sentence it would be, "To the extreme in every way possible."..power, noise, ride, big fat tires, big fat engine. Street driving is enjoyable but keep the drives short. Only car I have been in that gets more looks is the Gallardo (a friends).... even that is debatable. They are completely raw and unforgiving. Don't treat them with respect and you will pay for it.
The 911 is much more user friendly, much better daily driver. Obviously more refined and more creature comforts. More head room. Better over bumps (but not much with the 19 inchers). Took some time getting used to the exhaust but kinda like it now. Sounds different compared to other sports cars. Handling is great ..about a notch or two below the Vipers..especially the coupe. Steering is more precise. Car is much smaller so it can be tossed into corners more easily. Much easier for an inexperienced driver to drive fast. Better get used to the Viper before you push the envelope in the car. Much easier to compare the Porsche to a Ferrari, Lambo, R8 or Aston..the Viper is really in a class of its own..meaning there is no other car like it. Dodge wanted to produce a modern day Cobra replica car..back to basics, raw machine.
I thoroughly enjoy driving both cars. But if I only had to grab one set of keys for a beautiful weekend cruise...well....since it is a Porsche forum I won't

I think I drove a 03 GTS and it was truck like and small inside. The pedals screwed me up for a month! But I saw the track potential.

If it was a GTS it was a Gen II which is before 03. In 2003 they corrected the offset of the pedals. And the difference between a GEN II gts and an '09 is like night and day.

Would love to hear what you have to say about the 911 and Lambo! I bought a MY10 997.2S PDK Cab, but friend of mine has a Gallardo and every mile made on that car is quite something, the engine sound alone is worth the car cost , love the high rev engine, the sound, design... everything on that car is special, my 911 is so much more comun ,but maybe for this same reason, I bought it, instead of the Gallardo.
