Fabspeed 997 Maxflo Competition Air Intake?

Has anyone tried the new 997 Maxflo Competition Air Intake for the 997.1? If so what do you think?

Hi Porsche05, they will be finished up this week so we have not shipped any yet. We have a pretty large back order list to fulfill so there are many exciting owners waiting to get this. so you should see some posts coming up soon. The new Intake is an amazing upgrade that will really improve the feel of the car and make a night and day difference in power, sound and responsiveness of the car.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you, I have your cold air intake with the BMC filter. How does it compare? Also, what is the HP gain with this new air intake?

The Cold Air kit upgrade is a nice improvement for the stock setup which helps improve air into the engine and allow for a little more power and better throttle response.
The new Intake is just a major step up which replace the entire stock airbox with a Carbon Fiber 90mm Intake which allows for much more air to enter the engine for better cooling, throttle response, power and just an overall improved experience in the car. The HP gain on a 997.1 were upwards of 18+ Horsepower and 10+ Ft. Lbs of Torque. I attached the Dyno result below.

Hi 911Car, thats only on the 997.2 Cars, so there is not problem with CEL on the 997.1 cars.
Thanks,

Hi 911Car, Our Intake for the 997.2 Cars will not work on the Non "S" Cars due to Porsche doing something with the MAF sensor meter, so until we get another one in the shop to test, it will set off a CE light.
Our New Competition Intake for the 996 and 997.1 Cars are in stock and ready to ship. I will be making a post shortly with all the information, so look out for that.
Thanks,

New intake

Fabspeed:

Is there any problem with water ingestion with the new 997.1 intake. I drive 06 S in the rain occaisionally. Does this system mess with the warranty?

Hi Scott, no it will have no affect on the warranty and rain is not an issue because of the design in the trunk lid which doesn't allow water to get it in. So you will have no issues with water entering the filter.
Thanks

this is going to be a very noobish question, but how does putting an air intake or any other performance mods in affect the manufacturers warranty?

Not at all....depends on who you ask. What I found out is it really is dealer dependant but the warranty is not with the dealer it is with Porsche. I suggest you call Porsche Cars North America and ask them and make your own decesion from what they tell you.

I did just that last summer and spoke with a zone rep at my dealer about mods and I found out.....changing the muffler will not void any powertrain warranty. Changing the air box intake,, headers, cats, ECU, Throttle Body or any engine internals will void the powertrain warranty and especially with the ECU can void the entire cars warranty. Do people have warranty issues from intake and exhaust or ECU mods? Not that I've heard of.

A lot of dealers do sell some of these parts that could void warranty so it just all depends. Simple bolts ons such as this Fabspeed intake will probably not cause you any warranty issues as long as you DO NOT over oil you air filter. I ran BMC air filters in my 06 and 07 and never had any issues becaue I did not over oil them when I cleaned them.
