Here's a thought. Pretty big difference in cross sectional area in a 1.5" and 2" diameter pipe.

-=>1.5": 1.766 sq in; -=>2": 3.14 sq in

1.75" would be a nice compromise. -=>1.75": 2.40 sq in.

I'd speculate that stainless pipe can be had in different intermediate diameters between 1.5" and 2.0", but your shop would have to WANT to look for it.

With the AWE 200 cell cats the 2" piping is loud! Just slapped on mufflers last week. Way louder than the PSE mufflers + stock cats.

If you have installed the 2" pipe, it will not be possible to reduce to 1.5". If you had done 1.5", then you could have increased to 2" pipe. That is why I had the 1.5" pipe installed and it is plenty loud enough for me with NO resonance. I doubt that you would see a quantum difference in sound between 1.5 and 2 . If I were you, I would take off the AWE cats and see if you like the sound with the stock cats and the 2" pipe. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I just had the fister modded mufflers installed with otherwise stock exhaust and I like the sound, although its a bit tame. Plan to get cats later. Anyway - when ding my research, I thought I found that Fister uses a 1.75" pipe, so reducing to 1.5 might not make a big difference. Not 100% certain, but you might want to check...

Thanks Jack and Dave,

I would really like to keep the new x51 headers + AWE cats, if anything I would look at getting new aftermaket exhaust aside from PSE.
I find he Fister to be EXTREMELY loud with my current setup and prefer something a little more settle.
