996 TT/GT 2 Forum

Anyone have any idea why there are always more users on this forum than on the 997 forum? Were that many 996 TT's built?

No, no that many.

I can't speak for straight-stick 996's and 997s, but when comparing Turbos, there were actually more 997TTs sold in North America than 996TT's..and the 997TT #'s are still growing:

997TT from 2006 to Jan, 2010: 9,858
996TT from 2001 to 2005: 9,180

Their are less 997GT2s than 996 GT2s, because the 997 versions were only produced for 2 years:

997 GT2 from 2008 to 2009: 205
996 GT2 from 2002 to 2005: 317

The reason why the 996TT/GT2 section gets so much activity is because the majority of highly modified, big power cars on this forum reside in that section.

That section is and probably always be, 6speedonline's biggest attraction.

there are so many modifications to make to turbo engines that there is inherently more material to discuss.
