Is the C4S that much heavier?
Based on what you have stated in your first post, go C4S and this one you'll never look back and think "would have, should have, could have". It's like those who consider an S and non-S (and the additional cost is not an issue). If you go S, you'll never look back.
Turbo.....too quiet. all WHOOOSH and no growl.

Still stuck. Is the C4S really perceived as the turbo light and why not just get the turbo? First, I can't get a new turbo because of availability and I want a $100k sports car, not 150k and I am buying new. Plus, I think driving the turbo is boring and too quiet.
Have this perception that the C4S is a heavy underpowered turbo wannabe.......the C4S has turbo wheels...not sure how I feel about that. I go back and forth as to whether those are what I want.

Interpreting your post:
1) You ask if C4s is a turbo light yet you already know that answer. C4S is a great car but no turbo. Also C4S is not as lively or nimble as a C2S. Porsche say C4S accelerates the same as C2S? I certainly didnt feel that when I drove both back to back. C2S definately felt faster to me. C4s is heavier so how can that be? Its a bit like taking a heavy passenger out...you feel the difference straight away.
2) You sayTurbo is boring and, woosh? Are you sure you've driven one?Hmmmm...OK, If turbo is boring then logically C4S could only be way more boring as it lacks that phenominal turbo go. And that woosh from stock exhaust can be very easily fixed. The Tubi sounds awsome.....has that growl and some whistle too. There are many other exhaust offerings too. Drive a turbo with an exhaust and that will throw a spanner in your decision making process...garanteed.
Good luck!

Personally, if you can afford the Turbo, then get it. But I don't think of the C4S as a "Turbo Light", I just consider it another Porsche in the natural progression of things. I started with a Boxster S, then moved up to a C4S, and one of these days, I'll move up to a Turbo or GT3. But if you get the Turbo now, where do you go from there?? Also, a used Turbo is going to carry a 20k premium over the C4S so you might want to consider that as well. I don't think that a C4S is anymore of a wannabe than a C2S.
that's only true for the 09 I thought...
