Is the C4S that much heavier?

Guys:

Still stuck. I posted a C2S vs. C4s question before and got some good replies which I appreciate. Down to 2 cars similarly configured. I keep hearing that the C4S is heavier in the front. The spec says under 100 lbs heavier. Is this just feel? Truthfully, I can't tell the difference.
1) I'm not going to the track
2) won't drive it in the snow...ever
3) when I drive each...I can't really tell the difference
4) Do like the wide body rear end
5) Not worried about the traction because I won't be driving the car THAT aggressively.

Is the C4S really perceived as the turbo light and why not just get the turbo? First, I can't get a new turbo because of availability and I want a $100k sports car, not 150k and I am buying new. Plus, I think driving the turbo is boring and too quiet.

I'm going with Porsche sport exhaust....my car will stay stock totally.

I've got a great deal (10K off MSRP) on the dealer's 2010 with all options I want. Still stuck. Have this perception that the C4S is a heavy underpowered turbo wannabe.......the C4S has turbo wheels...not sure how I feel about that. I go back and forth as to whether those are what I want.

Headed to the C2S but the C4s is easier for me....(local and I don't have to ship from the west coast which is where the C2S that I like is located)

Comments??

I seriously doubt that the extra 120 lbs will matter to you. The C4S is a great car and is tuned to be just like the C2S...until you put it on a track or autocross course. If you don't plan on doing that, who cares about the weight and the drag??
Buy the car and enjoy the pretty hips the C4 has! (don't read that the wrong way)

according to Porsche's website, the C4S weighs 3263 and the C2S weighs 3131 = 132 lb difference; 0-60 is the same at 4.5 sec and the top speed of the C2S (188 mph) is 3 mph greater than the C2S.

my opinion - either both are turbo wannabes or neither are

coincidentally my next door neighbor is a salesperson at my local dealership and a he told me that the majority of C4S buyers do it primarily for the aesthetics (I live in So Cal) so if you are thinking of buying the C4S just based on looks, you won't be alone. The few times that it rains here, I do notice a significant improvement in terms of traction.

Regardless, I don't think that the C4S is considered a turbo light. There's enough visual differences where I don't think that it's a wannabe. I say go for the C4S, you won't be disappointed....

Dude, don't struggle! Go for the C4S if the widebody is what you like. I've never considered a C4S a Turbo Lite! I would get them to swap out the wheels. I'm sure for a sale they will do it. I don't care for Turbo wheels on non-turbo cars.

I like the look of the wider rear and would do it for that, especially since it's a local dealer. I like the look of the turbo wheels, if you buy it and want to get rid of them or trade let me know. I'm looking at a C4S with 19" Carrera S wheels

As many have stated, I bought the C4S for 80% looks, 20% for traction issues...but when I did drive it in the snow it felt rock solid.

I had a 4S cab recently & I live in Socal-no need for all wheel drive.

I drove both before I bought in tight 2nd gear canyons & felt the 4S was more planted & confidence inspiring. The 2S felt like it wanted to push & I'm sure as you learn to drive a 2, you figure out how to drive it. The 4 just felt easier to drive harder & faster, in control.
Many of the drives I went on were weekend canyon fun drives & I really was glad I chose the 4.

Plus the wide body appearance to me was the icing on the cake. I think Turbo wheels look great on a wide body & will be much easier to keep clean than the carrera sII or classics like I had.

Hope that helps.
Now go get it!

Don't forget: wheels can always be easily changed later, so don't sweat it.

Why?? Just go C4S (great car with beautiful curves...I reverse park it in my garage just to take one final glimpse of it's rear end before I close the garage door everynight before I go to sleep) and swap to Carrera S II wheel. You should be easily able to get rid of the brand new turbo wheels. I am also curious to know why you think driving the turbo is boring. I never test drove one but did not want a turbo given its looks: The look of the spoiler and air intake on the rear quarter panels are just too aggressive for my liking but would love to test drive one just to see how different the acceleration is compared to my C4S.

Turbo.....too quiet. all WHOOOSH and no growl. GT3 my absolute favorite but I want a sunroof and backseat for my boy (1 year). I like aggressive looks.....hence the turbo.

I guess it's all personal opinion and taste. The Carrera 11 S wheels are my least favorite (too many angles and not clean) and I am getting the dealer to take them off the C2S I'm considering. But you do like them so.........only my opinion.

Sounding the like the C4S with the turbo wheels isn't so bad.

Go for the C4S. It's great and it's local. The differences between it and a 2wd S are all in your favor. Have the dealer put on whatever wheels you like best and enjoy! Do it!
